ZEVON FIGHTS ON Warren Zevon's fight against cancer has been well documented in the media, as has his extraordinary decision to use his time to write and record a new album. The result of that work, THE WIND, will be hailed as a masterpiece. An impressive number of Zevon's friends contributed their talents to the recording of THE WIND -- they include Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles' Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, Emmylou Harris, Dwight Yoakam, Billy Bob Thornton, Ry Cooder, T-Bone Burnett, Tommy Shaw, David Lindley, and John Waite. Advance features have run in USA Today, People, Rolling Stone, the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times Magazine about Zevon's new opus, THE WIND, and the extenuating circumstances that have surrounded its making. In October 2002, David Letterman, in an unprecedented move, devoted an entire show to Zevon and his music, with Warren as the only guest. Additionally, VH1 has filmed the recording sessions of THE WIND as well as other important events in Zevon's life since the discovery of his illness, and will broadcast a documentary about Zevon's struggle and the new record in conjunction with the album's release. THE WIND is scheduled for an August 26th release. LINKS: Please Get Warren Zevon Recognition From The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame |
