Erik Braunn, guitarist for Iron Butterfly on the 1968 classic psychedelic rock anthem 'In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida', died on July 25 of cardiac arrest at the age of 52.

He was in the band from 1967 to 1969 and made his mark with the 17-minute classic. Braunn left the band to pursue a career as a songwriter, studio musician and producer. He occasionally re-joined the band for reunion concerts.
