SLIM DUSTY RIP Australian country music legend Slim Dusty, aka David Gordon Kirkpatrick, died last Friday after a long battle with cancer. He was 76. To many casual listeners he was the guy who wrote 'The Pub With No Beer', but there was a lot more to the man than one hit. In a career lasting more than 60 years, Slim Dusty released 106 albums and sold over six million albums. He performed 'Waltzing Matilda' at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and was widely regarded as the King of Australian country music, taking 36 Golden Guitars at the Tamworth Country Music Awards.
