KIRK'S COLUMN
Double stops and Harmony This week's lesson takes a look at playing melody lines in harmony. We all know the sound of it, usually through vocalists like the Everly Brothers or The Eagles. The blending of two or more melody lines is a wonderful aspect of music, and one that's quite difficult to understand at first. The rules are set by the key of the piece of music primarily, but the easiest way to keep track of it all is to relate back to the 'chord of the moment', as I like to put it. That chord dictates what you can and cannot do. I've put together one of my movie/tab/midi/commentary lessons for you. Go to this page: http://planetalk.thatllteachyou.com/argent/ In other news, my book PlaneTalk continues to sell all over the English speaking World at an ever increasing rate. I was very, very pleased recently when I received an order from someone who said they'd heard about it at a guitar discussion forum. The several players who had read it couldn't say enough good things about it. Many of the testimonials are now on my home page at http://planetalk.thatllteachyou.com All the best, happy twangin'
