Question: The sound of my guitar is great when playing single notes but when I play chords with force, string buzz is a problem. What can be done to correct this?

Answer: If you get a buzz when the string is played in the open position, the nut may be too low.

If the string buzzes when you fret on the bottom 6 frets, the truss rod may be too tight.

High action up by the sound hole end of the neck may mean that the truss rod is too loose and/or the bridge/saddle setup is too high.

A buzz on 1 or 2 frets may mean worn or lifted frets.

Some guitars come made to factory specs that buzz too much for me in the first place. If the guitar was set up for fingerstyle, it may buzz when strummed hard.
