GUITAR MAN ACOUSTIC GUITAR TIPS Acoustic Day-to-Day Resource http://www.guitartips.addr.com/ Question: In buying an acoustic guitar, is there a quality difference in a laminated guitar vs. a solid wood guitar? Answer: Laminated guitars sound dead with little sustain but are more durable and less sensitive to humidity and temperature extremes. Solid wood sounds best but you have to take better care of it as far as exposure to humidity & temperature extremes. Solid wood is also less durable. The solid wood is well worth the hastle unless you're taking it backpacking or something. Note: Laminated necks are OK. It is an accepted way of making the neck stronger. Gman ( o )==# |
