LINDA RONSTADT: TROUBLEMAKER Linda Ronstadt sparked controversy when recently she dedicated The Eagles' 'Desperado' to Michael Moore at a concert in a Las Vegas casino. People booed, tore down concert posters and left the venue in disgust. Ronstadt described Moore as a "great American patriot" and "someone who is spreading the truth" during a performance. Ronstadt was escorted off the property before being able to get return to her luxury suite after the show. Casino President Bill Timmins said she would never return to the casino while he was in charge. "A situation like that can easily turn ugly and I didn't want anything more to come out of it," said Timmins, defending his decision in a Las Vegas Sun interview. "There were a lot of angry people there after she started talking." "If she wants to talk about her views to a newspaper or in a magazine article, she is free to do so." said Timmins. "But on a stage in front of four and a half thousand people is not the place for it." Aladdin casino is due to change ownership later this year. Ronstadt has been invited back to the venue by the prospective owners.
