KIRK'S COLUMN
Hi, fellow guitar enthusiast. First, I'd like to mention that I've compiled all the lessons from my PlaneTalk site onto one CD. That includes the 4 'paid' lessons I have on offer, making a grand total of 34 lessons, all in the usual video/tab/midi format (with a couple of exceptions). I have also included all the tracks from my studio album 'No Apostrophe' and all the demo quality tracks from 'Rough Diamonds'. They're all in mp3 format. There's enough to keep you busy playing and listening for months. The CD is called Pluck a Lorange, and is now ready to order. Visit http://planetalk.thatllteachyou.com/plucka.html Weekly lesson: The anatomy of a C major chord It takes quite a long time for us twangers to see chords for what they really are: a batch of specific notes chosen from the scale. We tend to see chords as compact groupings of notes in familiar patterns but that's not really the full picture. Because chords are just a selection of notes, and notes repeat themselves all over the fretboard, then it follows that chords also repeat themselves all over the fretboard. They do that in a very specific way, and that's what this lesson is all about. Go to http://www.guitarforbeginners.com, negotiate the speedbump, and enjoy the lesson. It's a very important lesson, this one. All the best,
Kirk Lorange |
