IT'S JACK TIME
Continuing its long association and heritage with all things music, the Jack Daniel Distillery announced recently that it has entered into an exclusive licensee agreement with Peavey Electronics Corporation for a line of musical instruments, amplifiers and accessories. The new equipment was unveiled on July 23 at the Summer NAMM (International Music Products Association) Expo, held in Nashville, Tenn., and will be in stores this September. "From the days of Jack Daniel's Silver Cornet Band to arena stages across America, Jack Daniel's has been part of our musical heritage and tradition," said Campbell Brown, National Brand Manager for Jack Daniel's. "We couldn't be more excited about moving into this partnership with Peavey - a partnership that will result in musical instruments that everyone can enjoy, from the serious collector to the amateur musician learning the first licks to 'Smoke on the Water'." "Bringing together two powerful brands like Jack Daniel's and Peavey is a tremendous opportunity," says Peavey Electronics founder and CEO Hartley Peavey. "We're excited to distill our 39-year legacy of quality and craftsmanship with the rich history and tradition of Jack Daniel's into instruments and amplifiers that celebrate our common American Heritage." The single-cutaway Peavey Jack Daniel's electric guitars, featuring unique artwork on the body and headstock, are constructed of warm, resonant mahogany for the body and neck and a solid, quilt maple archtop. Peavey's patented Dual-Compression Bridge system will also be used, creating a unique connection for singing sustain and stronger string presence. The guitars also feature the classic Peavey output and tone, as well as their optional ACM Analog Acoustic Modeling that will allow for authentically replicating an acoustic guitar's natural tone and resonance. An acoustic line of guitars will feature vintage dreadnought-style bodies with traditional X-bracing, a spruce top and mahogany back, neck and sides. On the neck sits a rosewood fretboard capped with 20 frets and single-dot inlays, with chrome, die-cast machine heads for smooth, accurate tuning on the headstock. As with the electric guitar line, custom Jack Daniel's artwork will adorn the body and headstock. In addition to the electric and acoustic guitar lines, a one-of-a-kind Peavey Jack Daniel's 30-watt tube guitar amp will be available for those musicians looking for warm clean tones, gritty blues sounds or a vintage rock sound. And to be sure no one is left out, Jack Daniel's guitar straps, picks and other musical accessories will soon be available in music stores throughout the country, the company added. |
