NOKIE EDWARDS GRAMMY NOMINATION

Legendary guitarist-composer and pioneer of instrumental rock, Nokie Edwards, has received a Grammy Nomination for the album, 20TH CENTURY GOSPEL: FROM HYMNS TO BLACKWOOD BROTHERS TRIBUTE TO CHRISTIAN COUNTRY. Highly acclaimed worldwide for his trend-setting guitar virtuosity in both rock and country, Nokie's influence also extends to other fields including gospel where he recently has performed and ministered to packed church congregations in the U.S.A. As a pop music teacher to the world, Nokie has even hit the Billboard charts with instructional guitar albums with The Ventures, the recording industry's top instrumental guitar combo.

Produced by Grammy Award-winner and 7-time Grammy Award Nominee, Art Greenhaw, the album, 20TH CENTURY GOSPEL, is especially meaningful because Greenhaw is artistically joined with his guitar idol, Edwards. Says Greenhaw, "My biggest influences in guitar are Nokie and The Ventures and especially the master of melody, space, touch and tone: Nokie Edwards. "A highlight of my recording career has been to create and perform with Nokie, and with this album, the stars have come together to form an epic project that the thousands of Grammy voters have named one of five best in its musical category: Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album of the Year."

In addition to Edwards' artistry, the album also features vocalist-instrumentalist Greenhaw and his band, western swing greats The Light Crust Doughboys along with the knights of the turntable and billion-selling vocal backing group, The Jordanaires.

20TH CENTURY GOSPEL features Edwards and The Light Crust Doughboys playing classic hymns and anthems, The Jordanaires and The Light Crust Doughboys singing great gospel songs, a sprinkling of fresh, new original compositions, and a taste of the historic Blackwood Brothers Quartet (circa 1970s) featuring the southern gospel singer of the century, James Blackwood.

The Grammy Awards, music's highest awards at music's biggest night, are scheduled for Feb. 13, 2005 in Los Angeles.
