I am offering free space on my web site to independent musicians to sell their CDs. My deal is a straight consignment arrangement. We sell your disc for $14.00, and pay you $12.00. We also post a RealAudio file of at least one track. The web site will be advertised in a national print ad campaign, scheduled to begin in July. The magazines we are approaching are all musician oriented, so there will be quite a bit of free exposure to anyone posting their material on this site.

My reason for offering this opportunity is simply to offer a wider selection to customers than just my own CD. My disc is good, but once they buy it, or don't... I'd like to give them a reason to come back.

I've recently found a few sites that are doing this, and they all seem to be charging a large fee. I have chosen to build my record label, primarily through the net because I think it's eventually going to level the playing field for independent musicians. Maybe some of you can make some money from me, and help me build my business at the same time.

Since I'm a player, I know how tough, not to mention expensive it can be to get great music to the marketplace. Together we can make it easier.
