WOOD FOR YOUR AX
Christian Irarrazaval writes in response to last weeks article:
"Woods Used By Luthiers"

My name is Christian from Santiago in Chile. Many years ago I made a study of woods for guitar. There's a South American wood called Caoba, which could rhyme with "tolla" or something similar. This particular wood has very similar properties to the wood call "Mahogany", which I've heard is excellent for guitars.

There is a great page that shows the different woods at:
www.braille.uwo.ca/~charles/woods.html
Charles S. Tauber, Maker of Guitars & Lutes. It takes a while to load, but the pictures clearly show the wood grain and colors of many woods.
