NEW BLUES JAM TRACKS & MP3s BluesGuitarist.Org BluesGuitarist.Org recently added new free Jam Tracks and MP3 previews to its web site featured this Oct.'99 in Guitar Player magazine. "This site offers tons of interactive fun," said GP about the free online blues guitar resources. Newest to the free site is the ability to "Jam-by-Style" in real "guitar players keys"-- that is, A and E as well as in the key of C as before. You can jam-with-the-band in any of five popular blues styles in any of the three keys. The "Pick-a-Lick" web page lets you hear MIDI versions of licks offered in the free on-line lessons and the "Learn-a-Song" web page shows the guitar tablature and sheet music for each lesson in the same format as our instructional CDs. The best part of our free site for GP was the Auto-Reader, which automatically reads music for you. All you do is click on the on-screen music staff and it displays all the places that note can be played on the fretboard. "Tres cool," according to GP. Since the GP review, we have added the ability to play MIDI jam tracks in three keys, plus the ability to hear the real instruments preview, which plays automatically (yes, there is a "no sound" button) in Quicktime when you sign onto our home page. Or there's a button allowing you to manually download it there in MP3 format.
