This is an A chord: |---------- |-2--------- |-2--------- |-2--------- |-0--------- |----------The thing with the A chord is that you only want to play the four strings indicated on the tablature. If you play all six strings (the Low and High E strings open) your playing will sound unprofessional.
This is a D chord: |-2--------- |-3--------- |-2--------- |-0--------- |---------- |---------- Again, only play the notes indicated on the tablature.
This is an E chord: |---------- |---------- |-1--------- |-2--------- |-2--------- |-0---------
When you play these chords together (A, D, and E) you will be playing a chord progression that is used in literally thousands of American songs. . . Everything from Wild Thing to Crazy Train.
