GUITAR AND DOBRO PLAYING
by Lee - The Guitar Man

I started playing Guitar when I was 18. When I was 18, My Dad brought home a cheap Sears Guitar, once I got my hands on the Guitar, I could not let go. I think anyone who plays Guitar can understand that.

For 20 years I devoted my greatest energy and attention to music. For 8 of those years I played full time, no day job. It was great.

I recorded in Nashville a long time ago, as a Vocalist. But I didn't make the big time. So I decided to do what I do best, which is play the Guitar and Dobro. While in Nashville I was inspired by Uncle Josh Graves when I saw and heard him play Dobro Behind Mac Wiseman at the RCA Studio on Music Row. It was a thrill to get to talk to this great musician in person.

I have a CD of my guitar and dobro playing now.

You can get a copy of my CD at: http://www.mp3.com/artists/54/the_guitar_man.html

I have 20 songs on the CD. I hope you enjoy it.

You can listen to all the songs, all the way through, on the CD from the Web Site.

I have purchased 3 CDs of the musicians I like, from the web site where my CD is. I have always found the CDs to be of high quality and I enjoyed the music very much.

WHAT IS A DOBRO/RESOPHONIC GUITAR?

A resophonic guitar, as they are now called (by those who do not want to get in trouble with Gibson's legal department, who now own the copyright to the name "dobro" and "Dobro"), is a type of guitar played horizontally. The guitar is fretted with a steel bar (the "steel") in the players left hand, and the strings are usually plucked using fingerpicks on the right hand.

The slide guitar is typically a standard guitar, held the usual way, and fretted with a piece of metal or glass, typically a tube worn on one finger. The sound of the slide guitar can be quite similar to the steel guitar. Famous slide guitarists include Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt and Muddy Waters
