NEW TABLEDIT TAB SOFTWARE

TablEdit Version 2.33 was released November 17, 1999.

TablEdit is a program for creating, editing, printing and listening to tablature and sheet music (standard notation) for guitar and other fretted, stringed instruments.

Additionally, TablEdit supports tablature and standard notation for harmonica, mountain dulcimer, diatonic accordion, drums, violin, and banjo (even taking into consideration the special aspect of the fifth string).

TablEdit can open/import ASCII, MIDI, ABC, Bucket O' Tab, Tabestry and Wayne Cripps files, as well as files created by earlier versions of TablEdit. Files can be saved in TablEdit format or exported to ASCII, ABC or MIDI formats.

New and enhanced features in TablEdit 2.33 include:

  • Unavailable function (context sensitive) buttons are grayed out.
  • Text is saved with MIDI exports
  • "Clean Up" feature in Chord Manager
  • Quick search feature has been improved [q] & [Q]
  • Velocity and Notes palettes show the selected note attributes (even from the notation)
  • Muted notes can be displayed as 'X' in the tab
  • Mouse Drag & Drop on a single selection
  • Autosave feature (in c:\windows\temp.tef, after 10 minutes).
  • Automatic restoration after an abnormal termination.
  • Ability to enter drum events in the tablature
  • Bottleneck slide (new module/instrument option)
  • Improved tool bar behaviour
  • TablEdit logo as true type character
  • Diatonic Instrument dialogue improved
  • MULTITRACK PRINTOUT (i.e. multiple instrument scores)
  • Text & chord vertical position can be changed by typing + or -
  • Bend slurs in notation
  • Ability to select and copy to the clipboard a specific area of the print preview
  • Improved duet management
  • Mode recognization by ABC import
  • MIDI import option to assign tacks to individual strings
  • New option to draw borders around accordion tab
  • New "More files..." command in File menu
  • can save an image of the print output as a window metafile (wmf)
  • Many little ergonomical improvements (ability to directly add or remove the dotted/triplet attribute, Note suppression in Automatic duration mode,
  • Vertical scrollbar for screen scrolling, New screen mode button Test drive for yourself...
