Re: squire strat jv series

: I recently bought a 2nd hand 70's reissue squire strat with a 'JV' series serial no. I dont know what sort of body wood and pick ups were used. If anyone knows anything about them I would appreicate a reply.

Yep it's a Fender Squier JV series, dating from 1982 to 1985 ish (serial number should tell you or take the neck off and it should be written by hand on the end of the neck or under the neck).

These guitars were made from USA parts shipped over and assembled in Japan, Although retailing at around £225 as budget models they were surprisingly good quality (especially the 1982 examples) and are now well regarded.
