Im assuming that hes expressed a love for the Taks...so disreguard any info about buying another brand(my personal love is the Taylors).....but Tak makes alot of great guitars....I dont know what your price range is but if at all possible steer away from the tiawan made models(G series and the like....some can be fine instruments but you have to go play quite a few to find the one)........look for a Japan made Tak it cost a bit more but it a quality hand made guitar that will last a life time.....dont waste time going to every store in town just flip open your yellow pages and call around to see who actually has what I told you about and get some prices and dont let them sell it to you at list price they have a lot of room to work with a guitar priced around $1000 might go for $600-$800.....the bigger the city you live in the better the deal....because they know you can go some where else......good luck
