: Let's be honest. There are only two reasons that 7 strings are popular again(George Van Eps fans notwithstanding): KORN AND LIMP BIZKIT.
Steve Vai repopularized it to some extent, but it took those twoto blow it up. Now most manufacturers sell at least seven string models.
