I would recommend a Boss Blues Driver for the warm, overdriven stuff and an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff or the ProCo Rat for the big distortion effects. Also, for the Nirvana style, a good Chorus pedal. The Boss Chorus Ensemble is very cool. And for the RATM stuff, the Digitech Whammy pedal IS A MUST!!!. I hope this helps.
