The Fender dealer near me has started to get a few in. The neck is about the same profile as a regular strat, only it seems a little bit heavier around the base of the head. I'm pretty sure the top is solid spruce. Some grain is visible through the finish. The one I played was made in China, not Mexico. As for the fiberglass back, it compares very well with the all wood thinlines I've played. The back is slightly bowled giving it good projection. Much like an Ovation, only not as loud.
