: Hello!!!
: I got a gibson lespaul standard, and the high E string
: breaks all the time. I have tried everything from polish
: the saddle to using thinner pics, and softer attacs, but
: it still breaks very easily. Does anybody have the same
: experience, and maybe come up with some ideas, i would
: love to hear about them.
: Per
Try raising the stopbar tailpiece a little on the treble side ( but keep your bridge at the same height),
this will reduce the tension and may cure/help or even solve your problem.
I used to be a tailpiece screwed all the way down to the guitar guy, but have gone to having the
tailpiece raised enough to clear the back of my bridge. There are folks who say you loose sustain
when you raise the bridge, I haven't noticed that much change but I've only raised the thng about
a 1/4 inch....
