Both are good choices because they are the most common guitars out there so they will sound like alot of the music you know, best to get one of each down the road and don't forget a telecaster too :) !!!
Epis are ok, you usually have to try a few to get a good one and then change out the pups, but still cheaper than a gibson, just make sure you really check it out before buying.
: As a traditionalist I'd choose a Stratocaster model which differs soundwise obviously from an LP. At the end of the day I'd prefer the singing sound of an LP, which the Epiphone model produces almost as good as the Gibson original. Good choice?
