As the name implies, this pedal is meant for aggressive high-gain distortion, ideal for guitarists who are looking for a customizable distortion effects unit.

The instruction manual introduces the Aggressor pedal by saying that it was "designed to melt your face off", and I don't think that the manual is kidding. Turning up the Distortion knob will let you go from subtle overdrive to crazy modern scooped distorted tones.

When you snap build this kit, you will get a distortion pedal with three knobs that control output volume, tone and distortion. Further tone shaping is provided for by the Mid-Shift switch, which lets you pick between classic mid-heavy tones and modern scooped high-gain sounds.

Other default features of this unit include true bypass circuitry and LED indicator that is housed inside a striking blue metal chassis. MOD Kits DIY says, "The Aggressor is high gain distortion pedal kit that delivers contemporary distortion with plenty of chunk and ear-splitting pitch harmonics. The distortion effect goes from subtle break up to over-the-top molten distortion at maximum gain."

Being a DIY pedal, you will have complete access over the circuit of the Aggressor pedal. This means that you can easily swap out parts or modify the circuit to create your very own one-of-a-kind signature distortion pedal. Beginners will find that the instructions for building this kit is easy to follow, while experienced modders will appreciate this open designed pedal.

Like other MOD Kits pedals, The Aggressor comes with an easy-to-follow instruction manual and each component are connected via point-to-point wiring. The metal enclosure is already pre-drilled to accommodate the default set of knobs and jacks. Advanced modders will be able to drill extra holes should it be needed.

To build this pedal, all you need to provide are hand tools, a soldering iron and solder. The resulting Aggressor pedal operates on 9 volt batteries and can also work with a 9-volt adapter that can be purchased separately.

The Aggressor is currently retailing online for $74.95. Head over to MOD Kits DIY for the complete specs of the pedal and other details.
