Vintage V7HTBB 7-String Guitar

Vintage introduces the V7HTBB, an affordable double cutaway 7-string guitar with lightweight poplar body.

Vintage V7HTBB 7-String

This guitar is considered as the first ever 7-string guitar from Vintage, and it signals the company's entry into the 7- and 8-string guitar market, bringing with them affordable alternatives to what is currently available.

The appearance of more mass produced 7-string guitars is great news for players on a budget, this means that more accessible and affordable models will soon be available. Also, it won't be long before other big manufacturers follow suit, depending on how good these low cost 7-string guitars actually do, which again means more choices and options.

The more the 7-string guitars there are, the fiercer the competition gets, which then translates into guitar builders constantly trying to outdo each other. The end result being more quality instruments to choose from.

As a low cost guitar, there's nothing really fancy about the V7HTBB, what you will get is a familiar looking and playing instrument that follows tried and tested designs, including the super strat double cutaway shape and the 25.5" scale length.

Although it looks hefty, the body is actually lighter than the average solid body guitars because it is crafted from Eastern Poplar. The maple triple laminate neck is also light to balance the body, and yet it is sturdy enough to avoid unwanted neck contortions.

Following the usual super strat specs, the guitar has a rosewood fingerboard with 24 medium jumbo frets. Nut width is wider at 1.89" to accommodate the extra B strings. To ensure tuning stability, Vintage equipepd the V7 with Wilkinson WJ05 tuners and a tune-o-matic bridge on the opposite end. Instead of having a tremolo or stop tail piece, the strings go through the body for better resonance.

Giving this guitar its versatile voice are two Wilkinson PHS7 humbuckers, described as being able to handle complex jazz tones and aggressive high-gain tones. They are wired to a standard 3-way toggle switch with master volume and tone knobs.

What truly separates the Vintage V7HTBB from other 7-string guitars is its accessible price tag, which is expected to be just under $360. For more information, you can head over to JHS.
