Broadway Phil & The Shouters

The Shouters honed their trademark Industrial-Strength Rhythm and Blues cutting the groove through countless bar room nights. Smoke-seasoned and tavern-tested, The Shouter sound has the potent urgency that a band earns only through time. After almost a decade of boogie (and almost a century of collective playing experience) that has included stints with Huey Lewis, Little Charlie and the Night Kats, Curtis Salgado, Roomful of Blues, Roy Rogers and others, Broadway Phil and the Shouters take their blues and roots music to a new level with the upcoming release of their second CD, Rhythm and Dues. An all-original CD, with 13 songs penned by Rob Gunderson and Philip Newton and arranged by the entire Shouter ensemble Rhythm and Dues is coming to stores and Shouter shows this fall. Continuing the hard-driving R and B tradition of their debut release, Rock Bottom, the Shouters gear it up a notch on Rhythm and Dues, with songs of loss, redemption, faith and survival, a soul journey into the pulse of the human heart. *I’ve been playing these blues for a long, long time And I ain’t too old to jump I’ve seen the Apostles of rhythm and rhyme Holding church in a downtown dump.Broadway Phil’s harmonica and vocals are backed by the house-rockin’ Shouters: Gary Davis, bass, Rob Gunderson, guitar, and the original Shouter, Dave Mathieu, on drums. Their howling groove will make you dance, shout, shake off the blues and fall in love with Saturday night all over again.
