Jim Croce – Life and Times

A singer/songwriter whose enormous pop success of the early
’70s was cut short by his death in a plane crash. A Philadelphia
native who had worked the coffeehouse circuit for almost ten
years when he was signed to ABC Records in 1971, Croce
had a warm singing voice that served him well on his comic
uptempo hits (“You Don’t Mess Around with Jim,” “Bad, Bad
Leroy Brown”) as well as his sincere ballads (“Operator”). The
latter became predominant after his death, with “I Got a Name,”
“Time in a Bottle,” and “I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song,”
all of which were posthumous Top Ten hits

Jim Croce
Born: 1943 in Philadelphia, PA
Died: Sep 20, 1973 in Natchitoches, LA

I love the song Roller derby queen, especially the second guitar part, the one where it sounds like he’s doing blues runs through most of the song. I was wondering if anybody knew that part and if i could get it. I love that song and i want to learn that part

Hello looking around for Jim Croce music and songs I found here someone had requested and your generous reply was send me your email. Now I was not that individual, however, I have been listening to Jim Croce since the early 70’s on my 8 track player in my car and I would love to also get a copy of the Mp3 and if you have the chords for playing it on my guitar. Please let me know if there would be any songs that I can help you with. I played with bands back in the late 60’s and early 70’s in Toronto including my buddies, who were the back-up band for Cat Stevens 1967 in London England. I appreciate this as I have suffered a stroke and lost all of my music collection as I cannot remember where it was stored.

          Thankyou,

          Danny Boy

            Dm Dm(maj7) Dm7 Dm6
If I could save time in a bottle,
            Gm6 A7
The first thing that I’d like to do
            Dm Dm7 B- Gm7 Dm
Is to save every day ’till eternity passes away,
            Gm A7
Just to spend them with you.

            [Chorus]

If I could make days last forever,
If words could make wishes come true,
I’d save every day like a treasure and then
Again I would spend them with you.

            [Chorus]

If I had a box just for wishes,
And dreams that had never come true,
The box would be empty except for the memory of
How they were answered by you.
