Jon Hart

This metaphorical statement has real meaning for Jon Hart, the performer, Jon Hart, the man and Jon Hart, the individual. Having battled with obstacles throughout his life, both musical and personal, Jon feels he has developed and evolved. His music has taken a daring and individual twist since he moved to the mainland, especially in this last year, living and growing in the heart of London, and this is epitomised in his new album, with funky, individual music and heartfelt and honest stories, told through the voice of this young and inspiring performer.

Jon takes inspiration for his song writing from all around him; a well cooked and appreciated meal, a drunken fiancée, memories of the bubble-wrapped feeling he felt when living on the Isle of Wight (as all Islanders will understand-is hard to escape the relaxed pace and enclosed feeling when living there!), early mornings and hectic schedules. This fresh outlook on life is interesting and appealing as he offers his audience fresh ways of receiving the world around them.

Originally from the Isle of Wight Jon Hart graduated from Southampton University in 2006 with a degree in Music. Before his degree Jon played in a variety of different bands that made their mark on the Isle of Wight music scene by touring relentlessly around the island. During his degree Jon played in two main bands Waverly, a five piece experimental rock band and Horizon, a seven piece trip-hop band, with other students on the course. This course and these bands helped Jon realise his goals and since graduating Jon has focused on these and has worked non-stop to achieve them. Beginning in Southampton with a small business teaching guitar lessons, gigging and running open mic nights locally, Jon has progressed to living in the capital city gigging regularly at venues all over London. Jon has been working with Albert Pinheiro (producer of Turin Brakes first album “The Optimist”) and is currently touring with the established rock band “Zhain”.

In February this year Jon finished a six month stint playing in different venues in London every three to four weeks (Bethnal Green, Leicester Square, Camden etc). This was beginning to build his exposure and create hype around Jon Hart Music. In February Jon joined the established rock band Zhain as their frontman and began touring the world where he met Andy Fraser (Free), Eric Dover (Slash’s Snakepit and Alice Cooper) and played with Luther Grosvenor (Ariel Bender – Mott the Hoople, Spooky Tooth and Steelers Wheel). Apart from receiving a load of praise from listeners to legends alike, Jon has gained more knowledge, more gigging experience and raised the bar at every gig with his unique frontman performance. Jon recently left the band, to concentrate on his solo career, as this is where his heart lies.
