  1. Stolen 1988 Wine Red Gibson Les Paul Std

Last thursday at Sacramento State University my les paul standard, my mexican strat, and my mexican fender p bass were stolen out of my campershell. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT!

  2. Stolen: 1968 Gibson SG Standard and 1971 Gibson Les Paul Standard
    Joe Bilotti

The two instruments below were stolen on March 26 from the northern NJ area. I apologize for not having serial numbers for these instruments, but hopefully I have provided enough information to clearly identify them.

    • 1968 Gibson SG Standard with Maestro vibrato. Large bat pickguard with witch-hat knobs. Dark cherry finish with heavy checking on body and back of neck. Lots of belt-buckle rash on the backside body. Also, the pearl inlaid Gibson logo has suffered excessive wear or damage. Looks to have a refret, as fret tails hang over the binding of the neck. ***At the headstock, the nut slots are extremely deep with some excessive wear or damage to the high E-string slot. ***The treble pickup cover may not be soldered, as it was once removed and not soldered back correctly. *** The bridge posts are bent slightly towards the neck heel probably from string tension or age.

    • 1971 Gibson Les Paul Standard in tobacco sunburst finish. Original pickups replaced with Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbuckers with aged nickel covers. ***Plastic input jack replaced with chrome version. Original tuners replaced with newer Gibson Kluson tuners. There are drill holes remaining on the back of the headstock from previous Grover tuners as well. Some belt buckle rash on backside of guitar, otherwise the finish is good. The frets have been replaced. ***The back of the neck near the headstock has been oversprayed with a dark color from a headstock repair. A very slight ridge can be felt at the point of the headstock repair. ***Plastic nut has been replaced with bone or ivory version. ***The ABR-1 bridge has dark (zinc) saddles.

    *** Most distinguishing characteristics.

    Thank you very much,

    Joe Bilotti

  3. '81 Gibson LesPaul Standard
    Brent

December 9, 1999, my Gibson Les Paul Standard was removed (stolen) from my truck which was parked to the side of my shop, located at 5909 Richmond Ave. Houston, TX. It was in a hard shell Gibson flight case with blue lining. It has the tobacco sunburst finish. Serial number is 81006536. Afficionados say the early ’80s Les Pauls didn’t sound so great, but my father bought it for me as a graduation gift and I played it for twelve years in six different bands.

  4. Stolen RI Gibson Les Paul Custom
    Michael Null

At 2:00am in the lower east side of Manhattan, NY, my guitar was stolen right out front of 147 Orchard Street. It was a Gibson Les Paul Custom 1968 Re-Issue in Natural with Gold Hardware (Custom Shop). The serial number is 030798, and it was in a black leather Levy’s gig bag. I don’t even think the thief (THIEF!!) knew what he was getting, but it was basically the best guitar EVER. I really want it back. If found, please contact Mike Null at 617-335-0458 or [email protected]. That guitar was my living.

    Mike

  5. Stolen Reissue Strat
    Kevin

A sunburst reissue strat (and a Les Paul Custom) were stolen from me June 4, 1994 in Denver, CO. I recovered the LP in 2003 but am still looking for this strat. Serial number is V010258 and I believe it was a 1984 model and it had the tweed case. It can be positively identified. I think it’s still in Denver. REWARD!!!

I’m curious to find out how old this guitar is?

Your guitar was made in 1996, October and was the 1896th guitar rooled out that month. It has a hardwood body, 22 frets and powersound pickups. You can go to http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1996/96019.jpg to see the catalog page for your guitar. Also, you can join the forums on Ibanez.com/forum and find out all kinds of info. Good Luck!

            Anonymous

Hi there! i saw a guitar dying in a thrift shop. i didn’t know anything about ESP LTD honestly speaking. I’m from a family that barely drift away from what we already know. Until I pick this dying Viper-10. i was attracted to the 12 fret inlay that says VIPER-10 its my radio “call sign” Viper and Ten-Ten is my nickname so when I saw VIPER-10 inlayed on the 12th fret i was compelled to pick it up and save it.
When i got home i tried to set it as it has few strings.
So I gave it a new strings, Pick up height, Brigde, action, Intonation and all of that cometic polishing. Oh Boy oh boy!!! I plugged it to my Masrshall AVT Tribute amp and screamed like a Kraken.
Now I’m looking at ESP LTD in a different way.

Can you please provide me with some more information about this orphan but soon to be a star

I have recently come across a LTD EC GTA guitar at a local music store. And I’m trying to make sure that it’s not B stack. The serial number is strange it simply says, GTA 100. I do know this was a limited run so does that mean it was the hundredth one actually produced? Just trying to make an informed decision since this will be the last guitar and purchasing for a while.

            Thank you in advance,

      To whom it may concern.
      Dated 18 December 2005.
I have a guitar like this with serial number matching one of the two listed by D. Bailey.
I am in the uk. I obtained Mr Baileys telephone number and called him. This was September 2004. Mr Bailey said he would be in touch with Interpol and the FBI to see what could be done as I gave him the name of the seller in the USA.
I sent him two letters one with pictures of the guitar. He replied to neither. As he did not provide proof as to which of the serial numbers actually belonged to him, I am claiming the benefit of the doubt. I cannot have a guitar in limbo that I cannot sell or do anything with because Mr Bailey "says" it may have been his. This is in reply to Mr Baileys only ever posting about the guitar. I give notice here for 30 days to allow him to get in touch with me to provide proof positive that this actual guitar was his.
I have given him one year already with no reply.
      Happy Christmas one and all.
      Neil

  19. Stolen Bass
    Victor Bailey

Since Sunday September 30,my beloved "Fender Victor Bailey Bass" has been missing.Between 10:30-10:45 am the morning of September 30th,the bass was checked in at Houston (Tex) I’tnl Airport,Continental Airlines,E-Ticket check in counter. The bass was handed to a Continental employee behind the counter, tagged and taken with the rest of his luggage. After that it’s a mystery what happened to the bass.I have the baggage claim tag (#CO OOO5950066),so there’s no mistaking the fact that it was checked in by Continental.Upon arrival in Los Angeles I recieved my luggage but not the instrument.Continental has no explanation whatsoever.According to the airline the bag was never scanned. So what does that tell you about your travels these days?
1-I was allowed to board a flight without them ever confirming that the bags I checked were actually on the same flight-scary!
2-If the bag went to another city,as the airline claims it thinks happened, then a piece of luggage was put on a different flight without anyone checking to confirm that it belonged to anyone on that flight-a frightening thought these days!
So I have no answers at all.Did it ever leave Houston?Did it go to another city? Was it stolen in Houston? Was It stolen in LA?There are no answers! In the attachment to this email I have included a photo of this bass. This bass is the FIRST official "Victor Bailey Bass" so not only is it MY AXE but it’s an historic instument.A rare Fender signature instrument.Years from now ,long after I’m gone, there will still be Victor Bailey basses out there so it’s bigger than me.And that’s the original one.I don’t know if anyone will be able to help but keep your eyes open for me.
    DESCRIPTION (see photo in attachment)
The VB Bass is a "Jazz Bass" style bass.It has a three piece body. The front is koa (medium brown),the middle piece is rosewood (dark brown) and the back is mahogany (semi-light brown). It has a clear shiny varnish. The neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard. All hardware is gold. The headstock (area where the tuning pegs are) is stained a medium brown to match the front of the body.At the front of the headstock is Victor Bailey’s logo.Identifying marks are as follows:
A screw is (was) missing at the jack where the cable plugs in at the bottom of the bass. The screw farthest to the back of the bass is the one missing.Right below that same jack there is a one inch square chunk of the varnish chipped off, from not using a guitar stand. There is a brown leather strap and a set of Dean Markley strings in the case.It is in a Fender case, the new hard "molded case" where the bottom is flat and the top is curved in the shape of the bass. There is a red "Fender" label on the front of the case.Attached to the handle is a yellow baggage tag that reads "Victor Bailey Group".On this tag is a picture if me from the back holding the bass and my address and phone are on the back. This bass is pretty unique and rare as Fender Jazz basses go so it shouldn’t be hard to spot should someone turn up with it,unless it’s refinished. If anyone sees or hears anything please contact me (email is best).I am heartbroken!

        Hello,

Saw this Dorado Dobro on ebay today (November 13, 2006) and when Googling to find comparable prices, found this "stolen" notice.

Perhaps it’s the one you lost?? It’s being posted on ebay by someone in Oregon. I’m a New Mexian guitarist musician and felt a kinship so I’m sending this nortice.

        Best wishes,

        Don
