High Desert Guitar Works

I believe we were all meant for something special. I also believe it’s up to us to find that thing. And I can say I have found mine. A passion that melds all of the things I have done in my life. Design, wood, music, art; all lead me to this.
I eventually found myself at Breedlove Guitar co. This is where I learned my trade from some of the best in the business.

The evolution of The ultimate guitar

The MJ
Growing up I came into contact with many different guitars and in the course of learning to play, many kinds of music had interested me. From fingerpicking or strumming, solo performance, live band or alternate tunings, I always wanted an instrument that could handle it all.

I designed the MJ or Medium-Jumbo as that instrument. The wide rounded lower bout, and tight, high waist contribute to the well balanced tonal range this guitar will produce. Scalloped Braces and light construction focus the bass notes, and the curvatious upper bout supports the highs. A very sensitive instrument that doesn’t wash out when you really strum it. Basically a guitar for all seasons.
As with any instrument, wood choices expand the tonal possibilities even further.

Your Daddy’s Dred: The JD
For you nostalgics out there, we offer the more traditional shape of the JD. Familiar lines and the big sound your after are here to be had! A flatpickers dream! Scaloped X-brace, rosewood or ebony bridge and fingerboard, understated look, and the sound you can’t live without … We believe in the evolution of guitar aesthetics, so the JD comes with the High Desert Guitar Works peghead shape. The JD is the Perfect match for a High Desert Mandolin.
