what amps and or effects do they use to get such a crushingly hard yet clean distortion sound?
what type/model of guitars do paul and richard use in the Live aus berlin 1998 concert??
Pual was using a Peavey Wolfgang and Richard was using an ESP guitar with EMG pickups.

From what i know, Rammstein uses all assortments of guitars. In fact i saw them live and i know that Richard plays strictly ESP guitars.
In the Keine Lust video he uses a 2005 new rammstein model ESP built to his customizatins. If you go to the ESP workshop online you can find it there. Its a Silver guitar/Chrome hardware/with R+ inlays. very exspensive but well worth I think. Paul uses mostly Gibsons and few Les Paul custom replicas. I’ve never seen him with an ESP like richard uses i think 6 or 7 ESPs for live shows even a kirk hammet replica of the KH-2. You know the one with skulls and cross bones on the inlays you can see it in the rammstein live aus Berlin DVD…..I know because I also own this guitar too. But there you go.

What jhony said was mostly right but both guitarist have one specific each for live performances but have an assortment for videos and i know because i have seen them live

: richard plays a custom ESP rammstein guitar built to his preferences with chrome hardware/picguard/R+ inlays. GO to the ESP custom workshop online and you should find his guitar there and it tells you more about it. It’s a nice **** in’ guitar man!

Im wondering what type of les paul Rammstein is using in their Amerika video (Perhaps it might be an ESP or LTD hmmmn no sure though)

Richard plays ESP guitars. Specifically the Kirk Hammet signature model. Paul uses Ernie Ball Musicman Axis guitars. Both play through Marshall Dual Lead amps.
