I am considering buying a "Blue Shark" by Andreas of Austria. Do you have any info. , opinions or reviews available. Respectfully, Jim Parker

I have a black shark, with active pickups. It’s a good instrument, with a lot of sustain. Good for clean sounds and aggressive in lead. Too much cold the clean sound. Not so easy the truss setup, but very good precision in tuning and action. Bye. Stefano

I own a Andreas shark…not the blue one but the white cream colored one and it is awesome. I have played it for nearly 3 years and have never had any problem out of it.
To the guy that wrote the last follow up about the 6th string messing up with the distortion…no its not anything wrong with the guitar. Since it has a floating bridge sometimes if you put too thick of strings on it, you wont get the kind of sustain you want. If the strings you like are thicker…add more springs.
but neways…thats all i wanted to say. email me with any other comments on the guitar.

well, i have played one jim, and i must tell you that at the time i found it pretty awsome. clean. solos. distortion, it was beautiful, but i didn´t keep cuz i tought it was more of a toy to play and that the price was really to high. also one little thing i disliked – when playing quick heavy metal rhytms, i found the 6th string to lack some definition (the distortion wouldn´t fill that string perfectly, but on the rest of the strings, the distortion was more pure and precise than any guitar i had tried. so, like i said, i didn´t keep it. i ended up buying a stratocaster y.j.malmsteen´s model. What a piece! i love it!

but now, after a few months, i´m starting to feel that something is wrong, that i´m missing something, that my guitar is failing to give me what i want. i started to analyse myself and i found out that my problem is the andreas guitar i had played before and didn´t keep:(

sure it had that problem on the 6th string (maybe it was the pickups, but the other strings would be really "distortion warmthed" (can i say this??) and it had the best acton i have ever played. it´s different from conventional guitars, it´s slightly curved, giving a sensation of control on your picking. also, it had the most beautiful looks i ever saw on a guitar (and pratically everything else!!) and the neck was just spectacular. also, the clean sounds were wonderful.

usually, when a guitar is suitted for both distortion (solos or rhytms) and clean sound, it´s comun sense it wil not be as good as one that does strictly one of them, but that guitar covered the clean really well indeed.

(i referred heavy metal, but on the clean side, i play something that you could call of classical, but on an electric, using both pick and finguers, so i´m not one of those hardore guys that only care for a bit of cleenish on the melodi parts of their music if u know ehat i mean)

now, i´m seriously thinking about buying it again, but i have the malmsteen´s model that i also really love (speccially the scalloped neck), but lacks some character of it´s own. it´s like a stratocaster. really good, but i guess it doens´t appeal to my individuality as much as the andreas did , in playing, sound AND visuals (we know this is important, so let´s face it, we all love to feel that we have OUR OWN guitar, in terms of it´s own personality).

i´m gathering money for an andreas now, or i maybe just sell my strat, but i have to get the andreas i played a few months ago (it was the version with seymor duncan ´buckers, with split coil and a 3 way switch).

i hope i clarified u in some aspects of theis guitar but ofcouse it´s better for u to trie it by your one. if u have the money for it and dond´t mind taking a chance, then i would advise to buy one, cuz u´ll love it, by it´s sound, quality, viusual, piece of collection or all around for gigs. sure it´s a bit expensive but if that suits the player, we shouldn´t mind about a few scratches here and there.

pleaz reply me to my e-mail, telling how things went for you and your decision about this whole matter.

i´m from portugal so i apologize for any mistakes of writting you may find.

      stay well and best regards

I have for sale the above guitar dated may 1978. I would welcome either a reasonable offer, or a swop for a good bass guitar (4 string)
    or some indication of value.
