Do you still have the Apollo bass? I used to have one many years ago but I believe that the name on it was Raven. It was a violin shape right down to the head which was "curled" like a violin. Mine was not a great playing guitar and I sold it for 100.00. Being a bass player, I now kick myself for selling it. Even though it wasn’t great, I would love one as a sort of keepsake. Let me know if you might be interested in selling it!

I was given a vintage apollo bass a few years ago and would like to know more about it. I need to have it worked on and would like to know what to do or not to do with it. It is a 4 string bass with a violin style body. If anyone has any info the guitar or the company please contact me.

: Ken, I typed in apollo guitar and connected to your web site.
: In the mid 60’s my dad bought me a new electric guitar. It is solid body, sorta looks like a Fender it’s brand name is Apollo,do you have any information as to the history of this guitar, like who its parent company would be , how long manufactured and where.. ect…
: any info would be appreciated Thanks, Dave

My brother had hollow-boby violin-shaped electric Apollo 12-string in the late 60’s. By the early 70’s it was passe compared to Strats/Les Pauls etc. and he got rid of it. Sure wish I could find one now. I remember it played pretty well – good neck action, no feedback – not you typical Japanese electric.

Hi I’m looking for an Apollo guitar that looks like the Rickenbacker. I’ve looked all over for this guitar but have had no luck. It was the first guitar my mother bought me before she died. I would really like to find a similar one.

    thanks

I have 2. They are model 2219 in fire-glo. They both play and sound great. I found both of them doing a house clean out. I am a guitar playing auctioneer. I can send pix – references – etc. Husband/Wife in the ’70s played Beatles stuff together. Guitars have been in a closet for 35 years or so. I want $675.00 plus you pay shipping. You won’t be sorry. They are both killer vintage Rickenbacker sounding guitars at one quarter of the vintage ric price. Greg – reply for email , ph num. – etc

I have just listed an Apollo 2219 on Ebay (03/29/2017). Check it out.
RARE FIND! For sale is a 1960’s Apollo Model 2219 Semi-Hollow body electric guitar in a sunburst finish. This one plays and stays in tune. Overall great shape for a used guitar of this vintage. It is missing the tremolo arm, two of the knobs, the truss rod cover and the nameplate from the head. It looks like a maple top with rosewood finger board but I am not 100% positive of same. The frets are in great shape. There are two toaster style pickups and a rosewood bridge. The pick guard covers are four layered black and white plastic. The back of the guitar is surrounded by a checker board patterned black and white trim. It has a thin neck as was popular in it’s time frame. The tail piece has a rosewood insert. This one has the balance control to blend the pickups. All the components look to be original except the strap knobs which are new.

The finish shows some minor chips and hairline cracking in places but the wood is in excellent condition with no cracks or splits. It needs new strings. The pots could use a cleaning.

This is great looking survivor that looks as though it was not played much so there is a lot of life left in it. A classic look and sound at a great price.

Item is sold AS FOUND, no refunds. You won’t be disappointed.

I found these great new guitar straps at the LA NAMM show last Jan. called Strapture. Instead of being fixed at the rear strap button, the rear end of your strap slides along these two cords running between the strap buttons behind the guitar. You can shift the guitar back so you can get to the neck better. It also helps balance the insterment where ever you put. You just move the guitar where you want to play it and the strap end slides right into place. I even wear mine when I’m sitting down to play cause it holds in for me right where I want it, balanced and stable. There is even a model with a wide neoprene strap that is so much more comfotable than any strap I’ve tried. I love mine and wouldn’t play without it. Check em out at http://www.strapture.com.
