***** BOSS GT-3 OR KORG AX 1000G OR ??? *****

[The body of this post has been reconstituted from replies so it may differ from what was originally written.]

Hi,
I would like to get some advise on multi-fx-pedals.
I play a Am. std. strat through a Marshall JTM310 valve-amp, different styles of music.
What unit would you advise (for under $500):
* The Boss GT-3 (I've tried this one, sounds really good IMO)
* The Korg AX1000G (I haven't had the oppurtunity to hear one yet)
* Something else
And why do you advise it. Did you (A/B) compare the GT-3 and the AX 1000G?
Thanks Av.

Korg AX1000G has really good quality sounds and can cover up many if not any set up it has also good effects there like ring modulator wah-wah pitch bend,
hold delay mod delay octaver 3choruses flanger pingpong delay 8different echos all these adjustable
+phaser, volume ped ,filtron, traveler,11 different cabinet simulators +11disstortion of different amps
all adjustable ihave this and since throughn away everything else the sound quality is one of the best
i think better than gt-3 (i had only tryed the ME-30 and the
distortions were awfull)It has also stereo output and you can
record sapmle repetable phrases up to 15sec i'd give
a 9/10 for it money worth
One dissadvandage is that you can only move the "bank"
of edited programs in one direction otherwise it;s the
best effect unit in it's class.Personaly i have found the sound(s) i was looking for years in one pedal no joke
Thanks

Hi,
I am Angel (male), I play for a band called NOBLE MORGUE, I own a AX1000G, we have adapted various styles of music but basically into Metal stuff.
To be frank about AX1000G, this instrument is satisfactory for the prise ($300) aprox but nothing can compare the BOSS GT-3. AX1000G has few distortions,
one thing great about it is that it imitates different amps but no use when you can't couple up compressor & distortion together.

Boss gt-3 is defintly way better
they are awesome

Re: ***** BOSS GT-3 OR KORG AX 1000G OR ??? *****

Contrary wise, I've played with the Korg, but not the Roland, though I must say, the AX1000 is
very impressive!

Re: ***** BOSS GT-3 OR KORG AX 1000G OR ??? *****

I haven't tried the gt-3 but the korg is great. You should go to harmonycentral.com, there are many customer reviews. MANY, for both of those products.

Re: ***** BOSS GT-3 OR KORG AX 1000G OR ??? *****

Hi, I have not tried the Boss or the Korg, but, from what I've read about the Korg, it is a very good pedal for it's price. Heck, it's good in general. There are about 59 effects (or something like that) and, it delivers them cleanly, like they're meant to be. It's also very easy to use, and easy to program your own patches. Plus, it has some great factory presets that sound like some of the coolest bands out there. Now, again, I have not tried either, and have not read up on the Boss, but, from what I've heard about the Korg, it sure gets my vote, and, I'll definitely be saving up to get one. So, that is what I suggest you get, the Korg AX1000G.

Re: ***** BOSS GT-3 OR KORG AX 1000G OR ??? *****

Correction from last followup. It has 56 types of modeling effects...

Re: i am in a confusion

: Hi,
I am going to buy a multieffect pedal but dont know which one is the best for me . I want a pedal which gives a great sound and not like the me30 of boss I have heard a lot of complains about it that it has many effects but dosent have a professional touch i want the kind of multieffect which gives the touch like the single units . rp2000, boss-gt3 ,and korg ax2000 are the ones I am looking .is there chorus and flanger in the ax2000 i also wanted to know that please tell me which one should I buy and that is there those effects in the ax2000.

Re: ***** BOSS GT-3 OR KORG AX 1000G OR ??? *****

Hi, my names derek and I have a Korg Ax1000G
from my expeirence I would say the Ax1000G is better. I have been able to make virtually and sound I desire in the individual mode.
but I bought one and had to return it because the sample and play effect didnt work. I just got a new one and I still cant get this one damn effect to work!!! mabye im doing something wrong but I definitly suggest the AX1000g.

Re: ***** BOSS GT-3 OR KORG AX 1000G OR ??? *****

I was asking that same question yesterday....but i just tried both out extensively, and the GT-3 just blows the AX1000G out of the water. There is no consideration. The GT-3 has more tweakability, better sound quality and more effects than the AX1000G could ever hope to create. I know its a little pricier (at least here in Australia) but its damn worth it...

Re: ***** BOSS GT-3 OR KORG AX 1000G OR ??? *****

Get the GT3, no contest.
I've been looking to upgrade my weedy Korg AX1, and I was looking at the AX1000, assuming it would be easier to switch my current effects over, but with much better quality. The 1000 sounds no differnt to my AX1, the same synthetic, flat sounds which I want to get rid of. Plus, it has all the same limitations of the AX1: you're stuck with the effect order, not much modification is possible, and all together, it's not much good. Nice case though.
As for the GT3, when I went into the guitar shop and mentioned I'd like to try one, at least half the people in there said, 'I've got one of those, it's the dogs bollocks.' (which means 'Good')
I had a go, and I was blown away, you;ve got more power and versatility with this thing than you'll know what to
do with.
Get the GT3, deffo.

Re: ***** BOSS GT-3 OR KORG AX 1000G OR ??? *****

Go with korg, its amp modelling is better and the effects are really good...its way better than gt03.!!

Re: ***** BOSS GT-3 OR KORG AX 1000G OR ??? *****

: Im thinkin of Buying a GT-3 Ive tested the GX1000, the dist is the best ive ever hearf but
: the rest sux. If youve got distortion in your amp. buy the gt3!

I've not AX1000G, but AX1500G and i think it really f@cks lamerz ass:P Haven't reard of gt3 but i'm really satisfied with this processor. Ultra heavy sound and a pretty cool noise reduction leveler for balands' sounds or whatever.

Goya Guitar

[The body of this post has been reconstituted from replies so it may differ from what was originally written.]

I have a Goya, solid body, electric guitar that I rec'd
as a teenager during the 60's. I'm not sure what the
model / serial #'s are, and would like to find out where
they may be located. I'd also like to eventually find out what the
value of the guitar may be??? The guitar was hardly used,
is in "Pristine" condition and includes the original hard
case. Haven't been able to find anything on the WEB.
Anyone that may have knowledge about Goya, or know
of anyone I may contact, please e-mail me.
The guitar is made of exceptional quality & sold
for about $250.00 to $300.00 in the 60's.
Thanks,
Frank

Re: Goya Guitar

I recently purchased an nearly mint red goya rangemaster in the original case it is made in Italy and plays and sounds pretty good. it is shaped somewhat like a gibson 335 but has all theese wonderful push bottons I prize it like some of my fenders and gibsons. As far as putting a value on yourguitar or any other guitar for that matter, I can only tell you thatI have seen some strange things over the years and someone somewhere I'm sure wants that guitar you have, price is another matter. Collectors of guitars are a special breed and their categories are many I suggest you take a load of digitals of said guitar and post it on the intrenet I'm sure someone somewhere in this world wiil both respond and add info that may help you in your quest. good luck Rob

Jackson vs ESP vs Hamer

[The body of this post has been reconstituted from replies so it may differ from what was originally written.]

Hello
I am going away to buy a new guitar and have doubts between several models:
Jackson Soloist or Dinky
ESP M-III (USA custom)- MX-II or MX-III
Hamer Diablo or California
I need yours opinion these guitars or others with similar price.
At the moment I have a Charvel 6 with Pickup EMG-81
Dani

Re: Jackson vs ESP vs Hamer

I have played for many years and have quite a collection of axes and out of the three mentioned
I would never own a jackson Esp Is a Nice axe but dollar wise you don't get what you pay for, and
Since I am a Hamer fan and own many I love my Diablo I best sounding axe and it was a cheap buy
Sound kicks my Les Paul, The warm sound kicks my Fender Strat. The clean is sweat and the dirty is
rawnchy Best bang for your buck. The Hamer quality is awesome american or Korean they are flawless
Out of all the guitars I have ever owned I would not think twice about buying the Diablo again.

Re: Jackson vs ESP vs Hamer

Dude-
You GOTTA get a ESP KH-4 or a KH-2 (Kirk Hammett Model)
or if neither of those, get the M-III. the KH-4 is a M-II deluxe with dual EMG-81 pickups and customized like Kirk Hammett's (from Metallica) Guitars

Digitech RP2000

[The body of this post has been reconstituted from replies so it may differ from what was originally written.]

Anyone that has tried the new Digitech RP2000 yet. Is it better than the Boss GT-3, Korg AX1000G and other stuff in the same price range?

Re: Digitech RP2000

RP2000 is the BEST guitar processor I have ever used and of course, It's the BEST !!!

Re: Digitech RP2000

I purchased one. I compared it to the Boss GT-3 with my amp (Laney G50a) my electric guitar (Gibson ES347)and my accoustic guitar (Gurian). I lugged all this to the store and they were very patient as I tried to sort out these two very complex gizmos. I was looking for one thing that I could plug either instrument into. I especially wanted to be able to get a good accoustic sound with ever so slight chorus but my previous effects processor thinned the sound far too much. I found that the best accoustic sound came out of the Digitech presets in the store. Since I have had it a while, I have refined the sound even more and love it. The electric presets were not as good as the Boss while in the store, but the Digitech seemed much easier to program. By programming my own sounds I have found exactly what I want. The only dissappointment so far is the harmony mode. I wanted to be able to play solos using smart 3rd above or below harmonies. The propaganda said it would do it but the harmonized note wobbles about a quarter pitch and sounds very ugly. I need to find out if there is a way to fix this because this is one reason why I bought it. Anyone having any input on this please let me know. I am still deating whether or not to haul my gear in again and re-comparing. The store said that they might consider a swap for the Boss. I would only do this if I could get the good accoustic sound as well as the harmony feature and not loose on the electric sounds that I have programmed myself.

: Anyone that has tried the new Digitech RP2000 yet. Is it better than the Boss GT-3, Korg AX1000G and other stuff in the same price range?
It depends on what you want to be using it for. If you want alot of choices and studio quality
Effects as well as talker effects, pick-up sims, amp models, and mic positions. The best and
most inovative is the RP. The Tone works is the worst, and oldest of the three, and has the
least effects, But is good for classic sounds, and is also the least expensive. The boss is Just
alot of effects no ecpecially different things its your basic Effects processor w/ auto-riff.

Re: Digitech RP2000

I bought the rp 2000 4 months ago and its possibilities are huge. It ranges easily from basic vintage sounds 2 the most sophisticated special effect you can possibly imagine. The machine is just great !!! even if it is a little bit more expansive than the other machines you reffered 2. 4 more information go 2 www.digitech.com

Re: Digitech RP2000

can anyone give me the settings for a good warm
distortion tone from my rp2000.I use a fender strat
straight into my mixer.

Re: Digitech RP2000

I don't know about those other pedals but I do own one of the new rp2000's and I can say that I love this pedal to death. It's a little intimidating at first but that's because this pedal will do just about anything. I have seen mixed reviews as well as mixed opinions but I love it. It's alot of pedal for the money I think.

Re: Digitech RP2000

the digitech rp2000 is a superior machine to all of the other effects processors you listed. it has fairly limited tone control, however the other aspects of its performance are astounding. in order to really enjoy the rp2000, you must try it. although i have said that it is a bit lacking tone-wise, i have found a way around this by combining it with a line6 pod as a preamp to the rp2000, this combination makes even a (stock) fender jagstang sound like a roaring beast. in fact, i would suggest buying it solely for its effect processing capabilities, they are simply better than the rest.

Re: Digitech RP2000--how to get the great guitarists' tone??

Are there any web pages showing us what to edit the presets of RP2000 so that we can get the sound of Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani, and lots of more? If there is no such pages, could you please just simply tell me what to edit? I love them so much but I just don't know how to use RP2000 to get their sound. I need your information so much, and I am waiting for your reply. Thank you very very much.

Re: Digitech RP2000

I think that the rp2000 is cool but you can the same thing for less and a little different look its the digitech rp200. I think that i would have been happier with it but no im stuck with this 400$ thing that i could have a 189$ thing that is better. I also think that it is to digital so I would recomend the Line6 POD bofore anything totally digital.
