I've never seen a dedicated Reverb pedal. But, I have the Boss RV-3, which is the Digital Reverb and Delay pedal. It is a great pedal, the Reverb is excellent. No, having a digital pedal (digital delay, for example) will not cause the rest of your signal to become digital. The only thing that is digital is the certain digital effect. metal picks? are you serious? whats that sound like? i've tried it on mine but it was pretty icky. anyhoo, i can really only suggest that u take the floyd rose out. as for the pickups dropping out often, thats pretty odd. u might wanna curb ur metal picked ways juuuuuust a little if u wanna save the instrument.

i'm really no pro on tech stuff yet, but my ears pricked up when i saw the metal pick stuff! hehehe

a friend of mines got that amp, she just uses an me-30 (multi fx unit) tho, but i think she might do it how ur doing it. as far as i know, u'd go from the pre-amp out into the pedals. then go from pedal to pedal and ra ra ra. then just take the last pedal in the chain and put it into the power amp in. watch the volume if it has it on the last pedal. cause i don't think the amp vol controls will work, but i really don't know. but screw around with this setup and see if u get anywhere with it

: My mark is a good sounding amp that I got a hold of from a guy getting rid of it. Its sounds sweet, there is a whole deal of different inputs in the back of the amp, but I dont know what they do. I dont even know if the speaker jack is pluged into the right input. I heard there are different ohms setting in each input. There are two right next to each other. There arent any discriptions anywhere. I heard there was several different versions of the 1978 MArk 1. My mark 1 has the EQ, no reverb, no presence, volumes 1 and 2, 2 inputs in the front, 60 rms/100rms switch. I asked mesa boogie for the manual and all they sent me was a maintnance guid just in case it broke down. Dosnt really say what everything does. Would really appreciate the help. Thanx, Will

I have yet to play a pod but I have played a J-station. I like the J-station a lot. I actually own
a Johnson JT50 amp which has many of the features of the J-station. I have used the amp for
recording and it sounds great. From what I have read, the J-station is a bit more difficult to
program than a pod but once you learn it you are fine. The pod is a bit more expensive.
I have played a Line6 Flextone II that I really liked. It comes down to what you like better. Compare them
side by side if you can. Ask the salesman at the store which he has sold more of and what
people have told him about after they have bought each. I don't think you will be disappointed
either way. If you can, buy it at a Guitar Center or Mars where they have a 30 day return policy
provided you dont destroy the product in that time.

For the money you are spending, you should be able to find the guitar youare looking for. Although
you did not mention if you are looking for new or used. You have the right idea in first thinking
about what type of stuff you are going to be playing. You should decide if you want a guitar
with single coils or humbucking pickups. Humbuckers are less noisy and can give you more
output (and more crunch if you use a dirty tone) and single coils are brighter and 'jangly' (think strat).

For a brand recomendation, I recommend Hamer Guitars. In your price range you can easily
get a used model. They are great for everything. I have 4 Hamers from a LesPaul style, to
an 80's Metal Type to a strat. All are versitile and great values for the money. They do have
an import line that isn't as nice. You can tell the difference by looking for a small USA near the
Logo on the readstock. New USA hamers are out of your proce range but used they are an even
better value. I am so confident in their brand that I bought 2 of mine through the internet
without even playing them. They are solid.

Gibsons are going to be out of your price range unless you go used also. They can be junky.
Check out the little things like fretwork and finish to see what I mean. Because they crank out
so many of them quality control suffers. Same with Fender.

It all comes down to what you feel comfortable with. Check out this website:

I'd second what the others have said, but also suggest you have a look at Carvin guitars. They tend to deal entirely by mail order, which allows them to supply higher quality guitars at lower prices, as they eliminate the retail profit margin. That's their theory anyway. Never played one but they have an impressive list of people endorsing them. They should have a website.

I've had good experience with Crate amps.But Peavey also makes good inexpensive amps.Thought the RAGE 112
was very good,distortion and reverb.I also had a Fender

Never played one myself but every review I've ever seen of a Tokai praises them very highly. In the 80s when Gibson quality was quite poor many reviewers reckoned Tokai were easily better than what Gibson themselves were producing. (Please can you turn your capitals off, Simon - it's like you're shouting) Good luck, and have fun.

Sure, metal picks are great....if you want to completely destroy your strings and mutilate your guitars finish.

: Well now, there's a story... New Zealand has two main islands, and a ferry service which provides a link between them. The ferries have these unusual machines onboard- if you feed them a 5 cent coin, and a dollar coin, they flatten out the five cent into a souvenir! Kind of oval and very thin, still with the serated edge and an image of the ferry stamped into them. The dollar is kept as payment! I discovered these machines sort of by accident one time, and made sure I brought tons of change with me next time, as they make the best picks! The tone is more harmonically complex, and if you want you can make it sound really harsh and offensive (cool :-D), plus if you use the edge of the pick pressed against the strings it sounds a bit like some kind of demented slide guitar, which I like to use instead of 'yr cliched pick slide or divebomb effect... very twisted and sinister! Heavy gauge strings are great because they can take the abuse and put out a much fuller tone. Backing off the treble a little softens the tone, and the initial pick attack can sound like Brian May, although an AC30, a homemade guitar and his fingertips might help a little aswell!!
