Valley Arts Guitar/age

Haudi over there.
Can anyone help me? I´ve bought a Valley Arts Guitar Signature No: VA 928012. No one in Denmark knows anything about this guitar.
How old is it and what price:
And Valley Arts homepage?

Regards Ole from Denmark

Re: Valley Arts Guitar/age

HEJ OLE!!

Michael.

Strange plastic-bodied guitar

Saw a guitar in a pawn shop which was red with a white plastic strip around the edge; no distinguishing marks on headstock or elsewhere. Has twin flat-topped humbuckers, two tone pots/two vol pots PLUS two slide-switches next to bridge p/u. Kinda like a Les Paul shape, but more curvaceous, incl sculpted edges on the body, and with a funky whammy-bar setup right by the butt end of the guitar. If ANYONE has any idea what this puppy is, lemme know - I'm seriously considering payin' the $180 they're asking, even tho' it's a long shot that it's worth that. Dozy clerk in the pawn shop reckons it's sixties vintage. Any ideas?

Re: Strange plastic-bodied guitar

Sounds like it could be an Airline guitar which is a plastic bodied guitar with that ln around it,with either two or three big single coil pickups (they look just like 'buckers but they're not). they were made in several shapes including that curvy les paul shape, and a more angular one,as used by the guitarist from Calexico. They have no ID'ing marks on them with few exceptions. These guitars have a superb tone, quite a trebly surfy sorta sound, akin to a more mid-y fender Jazzmaster. well worth $180.

Re: ANYBODY SWAP THEIR VALVE AMP FOR MY LES PAUL?

I have a really old 15-watt epiphone tube amp. It's missing both power tubes and a fuse, and is covered with mildew. I'd give you the amp AND $50 to buy new tubes.

How do you take a Boss BR-8 recording and put it onto CD?

Hello

I am from Central Iowa and am in a band named One Trick Pony. We recently bought a Boss BR-8 to record our demo with. I think that the recording ability with this thing is amazing. Anyway, we have one song recorded on a zip disk. My question to you is how do we get it on to a cd? I have a burner on my home computer, and i have a zip drive. But when I put the recording on my zip drive in my computer all that pops up is a bunch of files for effects for each song and stuff like that. Do I need some sort of software for my computer? Can you please help?

Thank you
Brandon J. Kohlwes and One Trick Pony

Re: How do you take a Boss BR-8 recording and put it onto CD?

I have a BR-8 myself and my tips is to sync it with a software sequencer and just rerecord the sounds on the harddisc conected with midi and thru optical in or just ordinary aux in. This way every file will get synced and you can master it all down nad burn it on cd. I do su myself. I use cubase and I master with Wavelab, sometimes soundforge. It works perfectly.

Bye,
Anders

Re: How do you take a Boss BR-8 recording and put it onto CD?

I just got a BR-8, and what I do is just mix to stereo into my computer's sound edit program, save it as a stereo WAV file, and burn to CD.

I'll have to try Anders' suggestions though after getting some more gear/software - that sounds pretty good. Anders, what software synth do you sync with? I'd like to give it a try.

Hope this helps!

Yes, but the problem seems to be How To Get The BR8 File From The Zip Into One's PC? Do you just take the song file and copy into your PC? What exactly is the translation/Import/Export process?

Go to the Boss web site, they have updates u can d/l!

Re: How do you take a Boss BR-8 recording and put it onto CD?

I just found this info at this URL:
http://www.musiciansbuy.com/boss_br-8_recording_studio.htm

For PC software to upload your Zip files to your
computer to burn CD's and MP3's- call Roland Product
Support at 1-323-890-3741 and they will email you
the 'beta' software.

I'm thinking of buying a BR-8 and was researching this
question myself. Obviously, you could also output the
stereo mix from the BR-8 to your aux in, but that will
introduce an analog generational loss.

Note that the BR-8's Zip drive has only enough space
for 50 track minutes. That's a five minute song with
the mixdown present, or six minutes of just the 8-track
masters. Remember that all of those virtual tracks
use up space, too.

Re: How do you take a Boss BR-8 recording and put it onto CD?

:My question is about burning a cd and/or playing the recorded tracks on your computer. Is there a GOOD/EASY answer, the file format seems to be *.VS3. What is that? Can you convert it to a .wav. How do you record into your computer with a usable format? If you can answer these questions, that would be outstanding.

Re: why does it clip

when i record on the br-8 and play all the tracks back it sounds amazing but when i convert it into my comp everything is buzzing and popping, and when i record i make shure that the sensibility and input is set right but when it is on my comp it sounds reallt bad. What is the prob?

Re: How do you take a Boss BR-8 recording and put it onto CD?

Brandon,
Boss offers a program on thier website to transfer the files in their format to wave. It is extremely easy. I forget their site at the moment, but find it, and you will find the program to download. You don't need to buy anything else.

Brandon,

the software is on the Roland Site, at least on http://www.roland.co.jp/worldwide/download/BR8_WAV_AGREE.html. This is a converter from proprietary -» WAV and back. You´ll need a 100 Mb Zipdrive.

Good luck,

Willem

I don't know if this has been answered yet, but if you go to the Boss site, they have a piece of software to do just that. It's pretty easy.

using "pod" live

does anyone know if line 6's pod sounds good live. through a power amp and cab etc, or any suggestions

Re: using "pod" live

I played with a line 6 amp, (i think it was a flextone-pod built-in) and I thought that there was a lot of neat stuff on there, but I thought that some of it sounded sort of soulless, like most dimarzio pickups. I think that trent reznor uses one live, as do the guy from orgy and Kid Rock. If that's what you're going for, then do it. Otherwise, try it once, and if it sucks, you'll know better next time. Good luck.
Just don't use the "kid rock" settings... ugh.
