Stratacoustic
I'm a beginner and I would like some experienced information on the sound of the stratacoustic both as an acoustic and electric guitar. Is it gonna get the job done either way? Please be as detailed as possible in your explaination, as I am new to this. Thank you.

looking for advice
Hi, I just made up a very beautiful melody on my guitar and I want to be able to record when I play my guitar to capture the melodies that like and would want in the future to elaborate on. What kind of recorder should I get? I think that one that has 4 tracks might be good? I do not really know where to start and thought that someone could help me.
Re: looking for advice
well, seeing as u've got a computer, or access to one anyway, i'd go digital. i've got the audiowerks 2 package, thats got logic audio 3.6 in it and it's good. it takes a wee wee while to get the hang of it, but there's many many help places on the net for it and it's i think 16 tracks, so no probs runnin outta tracks. and also u've got midi possibilities w/digital
Re: looking for advice
Hmm.I'd get a Tascam mk414 or a Porta 1.These are good
four-tracks for beginners.I still love my PORTA-ONE.

setup
would a ibanez rg520qs with peavey special 212 and digitech rp2000 a good setup for stuff like extreme, metallica, ozzy, creed?
Re: setup
You might be able to get close with that set up. I am not familiar with the guitar model you mentioned. It sounds like you want something with at least a humbucker at the bridge. The RP2000 looks impressive from what I have seen. The amp needs to have a 12 inch speaker so you can drive it hard. Any less they dont respond well especiialy if it is a combo amp.
Your best bet is to try out all this stuff together and make sure you are happy with it.
thank you for your time (n/m)

my guitar,any ideas
i have an acustic guitar with no lable, just a model number, im guessing its from 60s-70s, the model number is fg43, if anyone know how i could find out who made it let me know at [email protected]
Re: my guitar,any ideas
Could be a Yamaha, they have an FG series.
Re: my guitar,any ideas
Yamaha did make a FG43, it has been replaced by FG430.
Does it have a little design on the headstock that looks sort of like a flower? If so, it is a Yamaha.
I'TS A YAMAHA BEN. HOLD ONTO IT. GOOD GUITAR.
It's got a little value.
a perfect circle
does anyone know where i can find a full translation of the runes on the inside of the case??
Re: a perfect circle
I actually figured it out.
The words are song titles followed by some lyrics. You can figure them out pretty easily too, you can figure out which songs are which based on number of letters, and then you have some letters decyphered to figure out the rest. It was kinda fun, even. I think that there's no Q, and maybe no Z, don't remember, though.

please help me with my amplifier decisions!!!!!
I'm into recent punk bands like blink 182, and alternative stuff like the chillipeppers. I'm getting a new amp soon, what suits my styles more, a fender princeton 65, crate gfx-65, or a marshall valvestate 65?

I don't think any of them are really great choices, but for the kinds of sounds you're going to want, I'd go with the Marshall Valvestate. I had one for a while. They do give you a pretty nice clean sound(for a Marshall,)and the shred is as close as either the next channel, or the gain knob. Anyway, it always looks cooler to have a Marshall than a Crate, you know what I mean? Fender makes some nice solid state stuff, but for me it is Fender tube or nothing.

the fender princeton supposedly has some tube simulating chip-set that makes it almost impossible to tell that it is a solid state, but it probably doesn't have good distortion. Good point about marshall and crate...
Does anyone have advice on bargaining and buying guitars?..
I am looking at Strats. I don't know which models are the best bargains. I don't want to spend over $700, but I will if I have to.
Japanese Strat
Can anyone tell me about a Japanese Strat with serial P026019?
Re: Japanese Strat
The serial # denotes a '95-'96, probably one of several reissue series, which can be determined by varying characteristics.
Please, Please help!!!!!!!!! Amps which are best?
Hi I wish to purchase an amp for no more than £180 but I want the best my money will buy. I have a fantastic digital rig from which I do most of my studio work for pc games and the like, but it isn’t portable. Plus I have some good pedals for over/dist etc. I play most kinds of music. All I want from an amp is some thing that’s loud enough for my studio room, but at a ‘push’ could be used to gig a small hall, ie a loud practice, starter amp. It is very important that the amp has a high quality clean sound, 2 channels & maybe an effects loop & CD in. The amps I have considered are the Marshall G50rcd, Laney Hcm60r. If anyone has heard, or have any opinion on them please tell me. Plus as you all know there are loads of amps to choose from. I only want something that sounds good for the money, so screw the make plus I can’t afford a tube amp. Please give me some amps to check up on. Please help, as I don’t wish to be left at the mercy of reviews & ads. Plus with these views I will know what to tryout in my local music shops. Thanks for your valuable time, all the best. Phil

Re: Please, Please help!!!!!!!!! Amps which are best?
YOU OBVIOSLY KNOW YOUR STUFF MATEY BUT MY AMP IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD. I WILL LEND IT TO YOU IF YOU LIKE
Re: Please, Please help!!!!!!!!! Amps which are best?
I like it, that put a smile on my face. Nice one.
What does everyone think about these digital amps
What does everyone think about these digital amps, will they accurately model tube amps, I have heard the pod are shit, but the Yam dg range are excellent. Plus will they drive down the price of amps in general. But more importantly do they soud great at high volumes for those of you who gig.
Re: What does everyone think about these digital amps
I own a POD Pro. It is a great tool for recording. I don't know about playing out with it though. It seems to hold up OK, but I haven't made up mind if it is good enough to play out with. I would not say they are shit, though. What are you basing that on? They certainly seem to be pretty prevelant in professional recordings.
Re: What does everyone think about these digital amps
I have a Line 6 Flextone 2 and as far as I can tell it's beautiful. The Jazz clean tone is super with chorus and it models a great tube amp, especially a high gain Mesa Boogie (rectifier on Line 6). People say that they can tell the difference and maybe they can but I think it's just that they've been playing so long that they deeply rely on their "real" tube amp and won't accept a newie.
multi effect (amp simulater) + pedals=good setup???
i am thinking of using multi effect in one of the pedal chain.
will the amp simulater in the multi take the effect from the pedal and simulate it as the amp type it specified?

Yes , it will...with slight blend from both characters
imho sounds pretty good
(only tried XXL or TS5 through zoom505II or POD tho..)
best of luck
