I have a 300 watt Fender Bass amp with a 15" speaker that you might like the sound of. It has a four band (low, mid, mid freq, high) EQ, low and high enhancement buttons, and a built in DeltaComp Compressor. Email me if you're interested! Even if your not interested, please email me anyways. I'd like to hear your review of the Velocity 120 and how much you paid for it... Thanks
Custom guitar pain.
Could anyone tell me how much it costs to have a guitar painted (single color). I guess it depends on the type of paint but perhaps someone could give me a price range. It's a midnight blue Fender strat. It looks however more like midnight purple to me, so I would like to make it actually look blue.
I don't know if this exists or not, but if there is some kind of see through paint to tint it blue (filter away the red), that should be enough. Thanks.
Mike
Make that paint.

Re: Guitar string size??
Play them big thick 'uns.
If you can play on them and get used to them, they're much better. They sound better and last longer.

Randy Rhoads or the SL-1 Soloist
Please tell me your honost opions about the
Jackson Randy Rhoads RR1T
and the
SL-1 Soloist USA
Tell me some of the advantages and Disadvantages, Would the soloist and rr1t be good enough guitars to perform infront of audiances, concerts, gigs, which one would be ebtter for the pull offs, bends, i've narrowed my dicission to the Randy Rhoads RR1T and the SL-1 Soloist
Re: Randy Rhoads or the SL-1 Soloist
Im going to play a gig with my rhoads guitar and it sounds pretty good even with its jackson pickups. It is defenatly worthy to be played on stage. And as far as the pull off sound, that has to do with the player and the pickups.

the rr1t is a kick-ass guitar! it was the model used by Kirk Hammet (lead guitarist for metallica) for several years (on stage)
Re: Randy Rhoads or the SL-1 Soloist
I own both, they are both great guitars. THe neck of the rr-1 nd the soloist is the same so pull offs and bends are no different on them. The only disadvantage with the rr-1 is it only has 22 frets and is a little harder to sit down and play it. Although, using a strap it makes it easy to sit down and play, just a little different then when sitting and playing a strat type guitar, like the soloist

Both guitars are excellent, and you couldnt go wrong. However you have take notice of the body style, and the RR1s are hard to play sitting down in my opinion while the sl 1 is versatile enough for standing or sitting and you have to notice the difference in pickups with only one humbucker being present on the soloist. Wish I had a tough decision like this make, too expensive for my blood man. I learned alot time ago, if your good enough it dont matter what your playing on.

Name that guitar
I am trying to remember the make and model of a particular guitar I played a couple of times in a shop back in the mid 80's. It was a *solid-body* nylon string guitar, totally electric, but shaped like a single cutaway classical guitar, complete with spruce (or spruce-like) top and classical guitar-style tuning heads. It even had a round "hole"-shaped depression in the solid body under the strings. Two more things I remember but are unsure of: that it may have been a Yamaha, and that it may have been called an "Andy Summers Model".
If anyone can, please name that guitar's make and model. Thanks!

buying my first guitar
I would appreciate any suggetions for a good make and model of guitar for a begginner.
I have a buget of $400-500. I want a rich sounding guitar that is not too deep. I do not plan to amplify it in any way

: Since you won't be amplifying and can only spend 500,find a GOYA acoustic. Generally a guitar made in the 40's-60's,VERY under priced.
Re: buying my first guitar
I started with an Epiphone 12-string acoustic from my local music shop.
You should get a model with a solid spruce top.
I now own two more Epiphones.
A 6-string cutaway acoustic-electric from www.musiciansfriend.com and an Archtop from www.bethesdamusic.com.

Anyone know this?
What's the principle behind diagonal patching on
a 4 input valve amp (two by two inputs)? Are
there limitations on when and with what it can
be done?
PODLAYER?
I've heard something about a new amp-simulator called the 'Podlayer'. Is it any good?
Wem Copicats
Does anyone know how to tell how old the solid state Copicats are and how much they are worth?
Is it possible to tell from the serial numbers or components inside the machine?
Re: Wem Copicats
: That is exactly what I want to know! I paid £200 for my solid state WEM copicat super-IC ( serial no. 2561), and I don't have a clue how old the thing is!! Its in good condition, but I'd like to get a sense of it's history.
Seumour duncan sh-5 ..good choice?!?
I have Fender powerhouse stratocaster and line 6 flextone 2 xl and I play progressive metal. Fender has a poplar body and a place for a humbucker. Is the SD custom (SH-5) good choice for this quitar and music I play. I need humbucker with clarity for special chords. I'm tired because when I hit minor A add9 I can't hear every note so.... is this a good choice or something else. I like new petrucci's sound (dream theater) / and old romeo's sound (symphony X)
Re: Seumour duncan sh-5 ..good choice?!?
I have heard good things about the Duncan CUSTOM CUSTOM model. I have not heard this pickup personally, but I know of someone who swears by them. He plays a lot of Queensryce stuff and has them in an ESP I believe.
I have used their JB pickup. A lot of heavy metal players use them. Very versital pickup. SOme say they are bright but I have used several in differnt guitars and they crunch up nice and sound good clean too.
Re: Seumour duncan sh-5 ..good choice?!?
Sorry I said wrong i meant SD Custom NOT CUSTOM CUSTOM.
I have heard good things about JB too but I think
I need a little more bass... Many have said that custom sound pretty same as JB but it hasmore bass
Re: Seymour duncan sh-5 ..good choice? I love 'em ! !
Back in '81,I was shopping for a high output pickup with good tone.I nearly bought the Schecter Super Rock
pickup,be the dealer refused to sell it to me.His words
were,"Super Rock my balls!!" "Van Halen uses the SH-5".
So I installed them in my '77 LES PAUL.The other guitar player in my group was using the DiMarzio X2N. AT high volumes the SH-5 kept it's tonal integrity, while the X2N turned to SHIT!! I was using a DOD overdrive 250,a cranked Twin Reverb and a Cry-baby. I've been chasing that sound for years!! The SH-5 is about 14.5 ohms with a ceramic magnet. It's got high output with classic tone!
Thanx for listening to my story.
you can trade it in within 30 days if your not happy. nfm

looking to buy a new acoustic, any suggestions?
I want to buy a new acoustic guitar, however, I am not sure what I want. I looking to spend no more than $400-$500, if anyone has any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated.
Buying those new instruments??????
SERIOUSLY NO SCAMS! LOTS OF CASH, FAST AND COMPLETELY LEGAL,
THIS REALLY WORKS!! THIS REALLY CAN MAKE YOU EASY MONEY!! IT
WORKS!!! BUT YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW IT TO A LETTER FOR IT TO WORK!
ALL THIS TAKES IS $6.00 NO FURTHER RISK. IT JUST MIGHT BE WORTH
LOOKING AT.
A little while back, I was browsing through newsgroups, just like you are now, and came
across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks
with only an initial investment of $6.00! So I thought," Yeah, right, this must be a scam",
but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that you send $1.00
to each of the 6 names and address stated in the article. You then place your own name
and address in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200 newsgroups.
(There are thousands) No catch, that was it. So after thinking it over, and talking to a few
people first, I thought about trying it. I figured what have I got to lose except 6 stamps
and $6.00, right? Like most of us I was a little skeptical and a little worried about the legal
aspects of it all. So I checked it out with the U.S. Post Office (1-800-725-2161) and they
confirmed that it is indeed legal! Then I invested the measly $6.00. Well GUESS
WHAT!!... within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I figured it
would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about
$25.00. By the end of the second week I had made a total of over $1,000.00! In the third
week I had over $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have
made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming in rapidly. It's certainly worth
$6.00, and 6 stamps. Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it
works....also, make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the
information off of it as you need it. STEP 1: Get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the
following on each piece of paper "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST." Now
get 6 US $1.00 bills and place ONE inside EACH of the 6 pieces of paper so the bill will
not be seen through the envelope to prevent thievery. Next, place one paper in each of the
6 envelopes and seal them. You should now have 6 sealed envelopes, each with a piece of
paper stating the above phrase, your name and address, and a $1.00 bill. What you are
doing is creating a service by this. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! Mail the 6
envelopes to the following addresses:
1) Randall Hickman New Market, TN 37820
2) Jack 6342 S.E.83rd Portland, OR.97266
3) Ben Spyrison 3175 West Forest Rd. Freeport, Il. 61032
4) C Bare 2965 Leawood Dr Anchorage AK 99515
5) J. G. Dysarczyk 3508 Paseo De Los Americanos 82 Oceanside, CA 92056
6) PUT YOUR NAME HERE and forward
STEP 2: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see above, move the other names up
(6 becomes 5, 5
becomes 4, etc...) and add YOUR Name as number 6 on the list. STEP 3: Change
anything you need to, but try to keep this article as close to original as possible. Now, post
your amended article to at least 200 newsgroups. (I think there are close to 24,000
groups) All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more money you
make!
---DIRECTIONS ---HOW TO POST TO NEWSGROUPS---- Step 1) You do not need
to re-type this entire letter to do your own posting. Simply put your cursor at the
beginning of this letter and drag your cursor to the bottom of this document, and select
'copy' from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into the computers memory. Step
2) Open a blank "notepad" file under accessories in windows and place your cursor at the
top of the blank page. From the 'edit' menu select 'paste'. This will paste a copy of the
letter into notepad so that you can add your name to the list. Step 3) Save your new
notepad file as a .txt file. If you want to do your postings in different sittings, you'll always
have this file to go back to. Step 4) Use Netscape or Internet explorer and try searching
for various newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, discussions.) Step 5)
Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text
of this letter and selecting paste from the edit menu. Fill in the Subject, this will be the
header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group,
click the post message button. You're done with your first one! Congratulations...THAT'S
IT! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroupes and post away, after you get the
hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup! **REMEMBER,
THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL
MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200** That's it! You will begin
reciving money from around the world within days! You may eventually wany to rent a
P.O.Box due to the large amount of mail you will receive. If you wish to stay anonymous,
you can invent a name to use, as long as the postman will deliver it. **JUST MAKE
SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT.** Now the WHY part: Out of 200
postings, say I receive only 5 replies (a very low example). So then I made $5.00 with my
name at #6 on the letter. Now, each of the 5 persons who just sent me $1.00 make the
MINIMUM 200 postings, each with my name at #5 and only 5 persons respond to each of
the original 5, that is another $25.00 for me, now those 25 each make 200 MINIMUM
posts with my name at #4 and only 5 replies each, I will bring in an additional $125.00!
Now, those 125 persons turn around and post the MINIMUM 200 with my name at #3
and only receive 5 replies each, I will make an additional $626.00! OK, now here is the
fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with my name at #2 and
they each only receive 5 replies, that just made me $3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will
all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with my name at #1 and if still 5 persons per
200 newsgroups react I will receive $15,625,00! With a original investment of only $6.00!
AMAZING! When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the latest posting in
the newsgroups, and send out another $6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at
number 6 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is, do you realize that
thousands of people all over the world are joining the internet and reading these articles
everyday, JUST LIKE YOU are now!! So can you afford $6.00 and see if it really
works??
I think so... People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the
money? So what! What are the chances of that happening when there are tons of new
honest users and new honest people who are joining the internet and newsgroups everyday
and are willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users, every day,
with thousands of those joining the actual internet. Remember, play FAIRLY and
HONESTLY and this will work. thanks for participating

I need information about Fender Broncos. Values, Years, Colors, Original Cost Etc. Or any information where I could find it would be great.
Re: FENDER BRONCO???

all original, great condition.
pre-amp
Just want to know exactly what is a preamp and what does it do for you ?
Re: pre-amp
I would also like to know what it is, but from what i've picked up its an amplifier used to boost the line signal from very quiet/small to much larger, i read its generally for microphones; why do you hear how so many guitarists have them then? I've studied some popular artists rigs and find they plug their guitar into a preamp then into several further 'poweramps' then into cabinets; that's about all i know so anyone else?

Re: New guitar player looking for someone to jam with!!!!!!!!!!
It'd be usefull for people to know where you are geographically, otherwise they won't know if they can jam with you or not. I'm guessing that the TX in your ID thing means you're in Texas, in which case I can't.
