just put all your effort and time into learnign the major scale!!! because every other scale is based off of that one, i.e.: pentatonics, all your minors, and all of your modes(mixolydian, phrygian, and so on). so really if you ask me, learn your major scale, its the basis for everything else.good luck,

I have a Roland Re-201 that is presently having some repair work done on it. New transistor and a few other relatively minor things. I bought the unit new in 1975 and it essentially has never been on the road. I always used it for guitar and a few times in a recording situation. It is is excellent shape because I am extremely fussy with my toys. Cleaning etc. Problem I have run into is I cannot find a source for replacement tape which Roland no longer makes. They came in little clear plastic boxes. I tried to find an e-mail address for Roaland U.S. To send a query to them for the purpose of finding out specifically what type of tape they used in there spools. Thought I would make my own. If you have any info on this let me know at the aforementioned e-mail. As far as further info. I loved the unit for over 25 years. They were well constructed and lthough limited in the range of effects for the price you could'nt beat them.

Dude the pedal rocks! I use it for my overdrive. I can't afford a big tube amp yet cuz i'm in college. But it has got so major balls, great for fast alternate picking and ect. Only disatvantage, its a pain to get a good lead setting! Also buy a Boss & band EQ for it. It will really help dail in the tone, i never shut off my eq ever! Good settings are:
LEVEL 70% Treble 50%, BASS 60% Mid 60%, MID Freq 40% I believe... or i might have to to mids switched.. sorry. Also get a Ibenaz tube screamer, that pedal will really add to your rythem and lead tone. Give you that warm tone. Its a great pedal, but i'd trade it for a tube amp with a kilker OD any day, i think everyone would. Get it!

The MT-2 is quickly becoming my favorite distortion pedal... I preferred the blues driver because I have a Marshall amp that has a great distortion tone but the MT-2 is the most versatile distortion I have found. It can give tones from a warm distortion to a nasty grundge distortion... anything you want i run the level a little high to overdrive my pre amp but the pedal itself has a great tone if you have a good amp try these settings: level 12 o'clock bass: almost all the way up high: 2 o'clock mids level:2 o'clock and pan the mids freq for tone to the far left is a heavy tone and to the far right is a bright distortion.... the pedal is great my only complaint is that it is a littlr heavy if you ever want a clean lead... i switch to my blues driver to play lead and still match the level of my MT-2

I reecxntly bought a new USA built Balladeer from Mars Music. At the time I also looked over the ones made in Korea.
The cost difference is significant with the USA made ones costing about $300 more. They sound similar but I noted that
one of the Korean made units had cracks between the neck and figure board. It didn't hurt the
sound and was probably only cosmetic, but if you are buying one check it over carefully.
If you are just playing for fun or as a hobby the Korean made guitars should suit your purpose.
But if you are planning on playing to audiences I'd spend the addtional for the USA ones.
You will have more of a selection of finish and styles. No matter what you buy I don't thnik
you'll find a better sounding easier playing guitar. I own three of them.
