I'm not surprised to hear this about Leslie Ann Knight. I met her a number of years ago, when she and my old friend Mike were living together. She was a volunteer DJ at KKUP, 94.5 FM in Cupertino California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. She also was active with her promotion business, Knight & Day Productions. She showed me some of her material, and it seemed entirely legitimate.

Mike told me that she was kicked out of KKUP because she was using the station as part of her promotion business. She and Mike broke up acrimoniously, and I lost track of her. I lost track of Mike too, as he died of a heart attack not too long ago.

My wife instantly thought that Leslie was a flake, and after a while I did too. Aside from the radio station issue, I didn't know that she was a scam artist! I'm not surprised, however. While breaking up with her, Mike told me how crazy she was, and that a psychologist he consulted proposed that she might have boarderline personality disorder.

The last I heard about Leslie was through Mike's daughter, who said that she was living somewhere in San Francisco. I will attempt to contact her to see if there is any way we can track Leslie down.

I'm very sorry to hear about the things she has done. I will check back here from time to time to let you know if I can help.

Think of the gear that was available at that time..most of the guitar players in "acid rock" bands used tube amps that didn't have master volume so any "distortion" in the tone comes from a combination of playing louder'n god and/or a "distortion" pedal (a device that 'clips' or squares off the waveform of the incoming signal). This clipping doesn't really add to the sustain so you get the quick decay and 'bright' sound of the clean channel with a 'fuzziness'. As for guitars it really doesn't matter. At that time players were using everything from Strats and Teles to Les Pauls and SGs to semi-hollow body guitars like ES335s - find a guitar you're comfortable with. Tone has as much to do with your hands as it does with gear.

Either take some springs out or grab the phillips head & loosen the claw. Bottom line...spend more time in the back of the guitar! Where Floyds are concerned
it is much easier to set up the spring tension first to get you in the "ballpark", then worry about tuning.
