guitar teacher

I've never heard of one, and I wouldn't be suprised if someone hasn't come up with one that attempts to teach you how to play... but I would be leary, and stick to the more traditional methods... if you have a link or info on a guitar that teaches you please post it... I would be curious to see it... Good luck.

HELP _ _ _Samick underbridge electr-acoustic pickup

I fitted a samick underbridge pickup to my Martin backpacker and it went in well. However I did not take a note of the colour coding (it has both balanced and unbalanced out) Anyone know what it is please?

Parker P38 - Problems

Hi

I bought a Parker P38. you know the cheaper Parker
model which allows you to switch between standard
pickups and piezo electric which gives a good electric
acoustic sound.
Guess what, 3 months later with only home use and not
very much of that I get a dead string and crackling
through the amp whenever I use the whammy bar. Anybody
else out there with this problem?
I took the thing back to the shop nearly 3 weeks ago
and am still waiting. £500 it cost and no guitar!! I
got a nice intro from Ken parker saying how much he
thinks of quality, how about showing me some Ken?

Hi, yes I have exactly the same, but I'm knackered, because I got a mate of mine to bring it to me from America(I live iN London..) The low e string piezo pick-up is broken. It is SO annoying, because I want to swap it for a jazz guitar...anyway, simon, did you get it fixed, and what did they say, any advice?

Pickup for a strat type guitar

I would like to put a new pickup in
my guitar . If anyone has any ideas on pickup
for rock sounding guitar I would like your input.
Also if anyone know of sites on the web that sell
pickups at good price and value.

Um well I guess it depends on what you want, if you're into metal you're going to definatley want at least one humbucker, provided your guitar is routed for it. You'll end up having to buy a new pickguard I'd imagine or do some home-routing with powertools if it's not pre-done. I guess it depends on what wood the guitar is made out of, I would necessarily want to go and spend a couple hundred bucks on a set of seymour duncan pickups to toss them into a basswood, poplar or plywood guitar because although it will improve sound you won't get much performance over a set of cheaper pickups. I guess all I can tell you is if your guitar is made out of a higher quality wood, go with higher quality pickups (lacers, seymour duncan, dimarzio, etc) in your price range, if it's a cheaper guitar, pickup some generic pickups. Seeing as it's a strat style, if you go with single's, try padding them with copper foil to eliminate noise.

Frets, for classic guitar

Here in Argentina it costs about U$s100. Cheap guitars ($400 under) come w/weak frets, so refretting is an option - makes your guitar really a better one. I dont know the cost of the cg100.
What is the problem - are the frets very used, or you may have tuning problems?

band broke up, starting over with new style a la mudvayne, slipknot, etc (no costumes or masks tho). we have a drummer and a bassist, looking for (mainly) guitarist, lead singing and songwriting are a plus. must be committed / able to come to practices once every few weeks. we have access to digital recording equipment, and you must have good stage presence and loud enough gear to be heard over a vented snare drum.

Don't know if you've gotten an answer to this but...Martin's website has your answer. If you can't wait, I'll tell you that your D35 was made in 1971.

It's a solid body electric guitar, double cutaway, twin hum bucker, separte volume and tone controls for each pick-up, a master volume and a 3-way switch, trapeze type bridge. neckplate is two round bolts or plates... Les Paul Active Artist

I was wondering how much a Les Paul Artist with active electronics is worth? My cousin is wanting to sell it so I don't have it here to look at the serial #. But, the last three numbers are 549. It's black with gold hardware and it's in pretty nice condition. That's as specific as I can be. Sorry.

Looking to duplicate Santana tone without investing in a Santana II. Web site says lead tone is thru Ibanez Modulation Delay onto MK I. I have not been able to find this pedal. Anyone seen/heard of it?

When is it made ?
Where is it made ?
Did a famous guitarplayer play on this model ?
Does this model have a special model name ?
It's in a good condition; a good price for selling would be ?
Or other usefull information ?

all i can tell you is that you can tell the production year by the last digits in the serial number...your is 1958.

humm, I got a Framus with the 35260 Serial, any details known about this one?

I just recieved a framus that I know nothing about, and
I am looking for information on its, name, when it was
built and any other information that anyone has on it.
It does have an accoustic jassish style body on it.

string gauges in floyd bridges

I have an Ibanez RG570, it has an LO-PRO bridge (sim. floyd rose). I wanted to use .10 strings so I tuned the guitar a half tone down, but didnt work - the bridge still didnt support the tension. So I came back to the old .09 gauge. Anyone had better luck or know what to do?
