you think? It has a 500T humbucking pickup, If I buy it I was thinking about replacing it with an EMG 81. Help! Is this guitar worth buying?

i own a strat but i did a lot of modifications too it... i but in tripple humbucker and individul selection switches... as far as tone goes i made my tow tone controls master controls for all three pickups but used diffent capacitors to make one high and one low tone.. as far as adding a tone... i considering it... i considered using the volume pot as a third tone and putting a new volume in else where but i really couldn't find a place is was comfortable with... fenr guitars as built staunchily( the only rout out a little bit of room for pickups) and will definately require body owrk to fit another pot... the other complicated thing is that the pickups selectors are different from strat to strat... find the terminal where the pickup you want to work with is soldered to that swith and solder another wire there to make the positive end... then wire is and link is bakck to the signal reutrn... which iin your strat is pry on top of the volume pot... in case you want other mods i suggest you explore this site.... it is very useful www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/menu.html

Have you set the sound cards input to the proper source. This is usually a selectable item that tells the sound card where the input is to be picked up. On mine it is a panel very much like the volume control panel You select the inptu you want to use and tune the level to suit your needs.

Very little pressure is required as the slide, not the neck and frets are sounding the note. A guitar with slightly higher action produces a better sound for me but most people don't have multiple guitars to set them up differently

Very strong fingers. Actually try bending the note with two fingers close together.

It's really not too hard. First, use two or three fingers (for bending and vibrato strength). When you bend the note to the desired pitch, twist your wrist just a little and you will notice that the note is raised a little. Repeat the motion and there is your vibrato. As a word of caution, watch how much you twist the wrist, you don't want to broaden the pitch too much.

If your trying to jump in and play songs right away your doing the wrong thing. a book can aid you but just get a chord chart and practice over and over again, once you get your chords down and can play them without duds and flow from chord to chord move on to your scales. Also once you have your chords down you can start to learn a few basic songs and make up your own stuff. GOOD LUCK
