Hi, I'll try to answer your questions. The guitar traces back a long way, but the earliest record of having the waisted (torso) shape is around 1170 BCE - it's not exactly a guitar, it's a Hittite lute. The picture that I saw looked a lot like a Baroque guitar.
The guitarra latina, which arose from around 300 BCE to 1200, also adopted this waisted shape. From the guitarra latina came the 4 course (or 8 stringed) guitar, and then the Baroque guitar (5 course or 10 stringed) and then the 6 course guitar, which became the 6 string guitar. From the guitarra latina onward the waisted shape was prevalent.

There were instruments related to the guitar which had an oval shape, like the lute and the ud (or oud). The guitarra moresca, which came about the same time as the guitarra latina, had more of an oval shape and was believed to be influenced by the ud (which came from the Moors).

That is a good question and I can find out for you, possibly. I can tell you that the earliest lutes/guitars had soundboards that were either wood or in the case of the lyre stretched skin like a drum. What did make a difference was string length, thickness and tension - also the thinness of the soundboard allowed for more vibrations and a greater volume (the soundboard is the top of the guitar). On a modern guitar, the soundboard is the piece of wood that contains the soundhole and the bridge is attached to it.

Often they are cheap because they're crap. Sometimes you might be lucky (if a Yamaha Pacifica is included it might be worth it). You probably would do better to find something secondhand. You can get some great deals if you keep your eyes open. This is especially true for amps. The ones that come in 'packages' usually aren't very inspiring. There's no point in getting a 'deal' if it puts you off playing.

Generally,yes.10's will give you more signal and more sustain.

First thing I'd do is try using bigger strings. On my Strat, I can divebomb and still be completely in. I use 11-50.

I know how u feel. I was there. what u need is 2 find songs, or write songs that use the chords u know, and get a drum rythm. wheather it's a drummer or a rythm on a keyboard it will help keep the tempo. go faster, slower. what works for me really good is to play in an unformal band. I have played rythm guitar in my youth group for about 6 months, (now I'm 14) and now I can play lead when billy isn't there (our lead guitarist) w/out a problem. it's because i am playing in front of my peers, and there's pressure there.

I'm from Brasil and I play guitar in a alternative rock band. We are looking for a way to show our stuff out of Brasil, here we got many fans (even our mothers and wifes, he)....I'm curious about your documentary.
What do you think about to put foreign bands on this?

Hey there, as far as the major scale goes i will try and give you an easy understanding of ther scale but if you wish to know more please mail me.
The major scale is a collection of notes starting on the root and ending on the Octave. For instance like you said A major, you would play the scale starting on A and end on A the next octave up. I dont know fully what you would like to know but im just trying to help.
The first note of the scale is the root as ive mentioned. Im gonna use the key of C to make this easier. Each scale has a key of its own. The key tell you which notes are to be sharpened of flattened. The kay of C has no sharps or flats there for the scale of C major is C D E F G A B (C) the second C is known as the octave and from that point the scale just repeates itself. Just to let you know the key of A has 3 sharps, F C G.
