Re: Fender Vibrolux reissue
I know what you mean and I've heard there's something you can do about it but I don't know what! I suggest you should talk to a Tech-wizard; those guys allways know what to do. good luck
Re: Fender Vibrolux reissue
: Why dies makes the Vibrolux Reissue sound like shit? The original Vibrolux sounds totally different. Is there something to be done about it?

Need info: Washburn "Chicago" series guitars
I wqas wondering if anyone knew about these s. From what I have found, there are several different model #'s. My boyfriend has one he got that was supposedly used by Faith No More's guitar player. It's has Chicago series on the headstock, NO Floyd Rose and only ONE humbucker at the bridge. Can't remeber about the knobs...and I don't have it with me to refer to. I love this guitar! Anyone with any info please email me! Thanks guys....hope to hear from someone soon.....Ciao!
Re: Need info: Washburn "Chicago" series guitars

how do you use a whammy bar
I was wondering how to use a whammy bar when my amp is on and i move it i see nothing and i dont' know how to use the strings with it i hear they become slack can some tell me a basic intro for it. Thanks
Re: how do you use a whammy bar
i just got a new guitar day with a whammy bar... its really simple... if u turn it 2 point twoards the head of ur guitar n push it down it makes the trings go slack n if u aim it away(opposite the neck) it makes like a bending sound... hope this helps
Re: how do you use a whammy bar
okay try this for starters. Kinda tricky at first. 1st)pluck a harmonic on your b (3rd up) string on the fourth fret. You kinda have to hit it almost between the 3rd and 4th frets to get it to sound. 2nd)pull up on the whammy and after this push it all the down, while you are almost all the way down put in some vibrato with the bar. The sound you are going for here is a horse whinny. practice.
should i buy it?
hey ive been looking for starter electric guitar for a while now. its as a christmas present so i have a limited buget on it, but a friend recently told me about a site where they sell new kramers for like 75$. i went on harmony central and this guitar got all good reviews. so i was wonderin if its smart to just go ahead and get one

Re: should i buy it?

Marshall 20th Anniversary Series
I have a white 1982 20th anniversary series 4x12 half stack. I haven't been able to get much info on this amp or its value. If anyone could give me a little direction on this I would appreciate it very much.

Re: Marshall 20th Anniversary Series
I have owned several of these amps (and still
have one). In general the 1982 Anniversary series does not command as high a price as the 1987 and later Anniversary series models because, although it has the
distinctive color and 'AS' serial number info, there
is nothing electronically distinctive. Not to say
the amps are not in demand. In fact to the sharp
Marshall person they are rare as all hell, and
sound excellent.
There is a 100 watt on ebay at this time, the seller has posted three times in a row with a reserve at
$1999, but highest bid thus far is around $1000.
Condition sounds 'good' with some nicks and scratches.
This is a non channel switch unit. Therefore I would
expect a 50 watter would be slightly less.

Jedson S.G. shape Bass
I have recently bought a Jedson S.G. shape bass guitar from a second hand shop. I bought it because it was cheap and it has a good sound. Also I love that S.G. body shape. The guy at the shop told me that it was "1970's", and that it was well made. I wonder if anyone can tell me more about Jedson guitars and basses and perhaps help me to date and value my bass more accurately. Thanks.

The Keith Miller Site? That old Carvin Head Sounderd Good!
It has a great amount of tone. I actually liked it.
Tubes kill Solid State/digital, anyday!
Re: The Keith Miller Site? That old Carvin Head Sounderd Good!
Hey thanx dude. Yea all of the samples featured the Quad-X TUBE pre-amp. Except for the one which says X-60b Tube head, some people wanted to check out that so I made a quick jam with it. But Like I said all of the other samples I used the Quad-X tube pre-amp. 9 tubes 18 stages of gain, four channels and it ROCKS!!!!

If i have big hands would i have a harder time playing it
seriously. i heard that if you have big hands it be extremly hard to play gituar. is there any truth to this please e-mail me about it. I may be getting a gituar soon. i dont know what kind though. i'm 19 and starting out on my 1st lesson. e-mail me about it folks
Re: If i have big hands would i have a harder time playing it
No, big hands are not a disadvantage -- in fact, for may it's a big advantage (especially the guys with long fingers that can play chords that many of us can't).
In addition, there are many different neck styles and thicknesses, and widths to chose from these days. I build my guitars with a slightly wider neck than some manufacturers
and the thickness and shape of the back of the neck can be flatter of rounder depending on what feels most comfortable to the player.
A lot of fine guitar players are gifted with large hands, and they play all styles too -- chek it out, and you'll find this to be true.
Please visit my web site at: http://members.home.net/wilkatguitars/
I post tips for setting up and repairing guitars, and will likely be adding playing tips, etc. in the future.
For now, go out and check different makes and models of guitar, and go for it! I'm sure you'll find something that feels good in your hands.
If not, you can always get one built for you down the road.
Good Luck, Bill
Re: If i have big hands would i have a harder time playing it
Bill,
If you have big hands, you'll have an advantage. At least in the opinion of Mr. Stubby Fingers here. I have short fingers and I have an easier time of it on short scale guitars with narrow necks. So you're right that hand size, and finger length, are a factor. But if you watch the great guitarists who are really capable of getting a lot of music going with just two hands and one guitar (like Chuck Berry or Eric Clapton) you'll notice that they have very long fingers. Choose your guitar to accomodate your hands and you'll be fine. Be advised that even with big hands you'll still have to "practice, practice, practice." Ask a knowledgeable sales person to show you guitars with longer scales (25" and up) and wider fretboards (measured at the nut starting about 1 and 7/8 inches and up). Rock on, and have some fun.
