: Washburn AE always seemed a little tinny to me (maybe its just me) As far as buying on line, I'll give the same advice I gave to "the Dude" regarding a Guild D-25. How Do you know how this guitar is going to play or sound without trying it first ?? You may try two or three of the exact same model,and sometimes you can find one thats just perfect or one that sucks. Hope you don't get one that sucks. ( I know you can send it back & get another one, but how many times do you want to do this & pay freight ?)Maybe hit a couple of guitar stores first. Good luck

It was tinny but I removed the bridge and shimmed the pickup with carbon fibre cloth (under and over)Now it is less tinny-My simon and patrick eats it for breakfast ;)

I just found out that Burns guitars are now being sold in the USA, including the new Brian May (guitarist from Queen) signature model. I stumbled upon their website: www.burnsusa.com, and found this all out. It looks pretty cool, does anybody know anything about these guitars?

I used to have a Nu Sonic 62 model was a good guitar there are a few to choose from but the Hank Marvin special was the best I played

I have one of these guitars w/ no midi
equiptment. I got it for the guitar- it has
3 single coil bartolini pickups, looks and plays
great. however I dont know if it needs work or
not to be a synth, but has everything it came with.
I was not looking to sell but if you are still looking
I may consider it for sall or trade?

Very playable. Acoustically, rates a 6 or 7 out of 10, but sounds great when plugged in.

I plan to keep mine.

Ive been playin guitar for 2 years, but I think Im a decent player. Also im in a band, we dont gig much at all, more into our song-writing phase at the moment. Anyway, i play through an old super reverb that i share for the singers vocals, and i want a new amp. I want a new amp, i found a mesa heartbreaker stack for $1700, but is it even worth getting it if ive only been playin a few years. Im a sophomore in HS, and i dont know what the bands gonna do after we graduate either.

Super Reverb huh? Why do you want a new amp ? Sounds to me like your singer needs a PA worse than you need an amp. If you want some different sounds, buy some effect pedals its a lot cheaper. Let your singer buy a PA for his vocs.

Setup: Laney VC 100 and Boss GT-3

Hi,
how do I set up my Laney with the GT-3 correctly? The amp has like millions of effects loops and settings. I want to use the Laney`s distortion and clean channel, and occasionally switch on the modulation effects of the GT-3, so that they are available on BOTH the clean and the overdrive channel of the Laney, and without the GT-3 degrading the signal in any way. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thx.

Well, now..this is my first look at this site, and as you can see from my "handle", it's not my real name. Frankly, I'd rather stay anonymous. Am I famous? Well, no, the folks around here wouldn't know me, because I'm a jazz studio player, and you guys don't listen to that. Do ya? I didn't think so. Off the top of my head, I'd estimate there are 40 million guitar players in the US, and most all of them listen to the same six guys. If one of these six "gods" switches from a Fender to a Gibson, watch the Gibson stock go up. I'm not knocking these guys, they're all good. But don't you folks get tired of playing the same old licks in the same old "box position" backed by the same old boring power chords? Sorta like Mr Bob, here. He's obviously a troll who likes to mess you folks and get ya pissed off. So you go on a ride with Bob - up five frets, bend a string, whack the whammy bar..etc. Maybe it's time to expand your worlds. Say, when's the last time you listened to Paul Bollenback? Jimmy Bruno? How about Chuck Loeb, or Birelli LaGrene? Oh, I can see you're nodding off now. Nevermind. Happy playing.

I was on Musician's Friend and saw models from Dean, Rogue, Takamine, and Ibanez. I know Takamine and Ibanez would offer solid quality and I don't mind spending a bit more. But would I get comparable quality from a Dean or a Rogue? (I was especially the looking at the Dean Performance model). Any other names I should consider?
