Re: wiring an in/out phase switch

With a phase switch you can probably get a pretty twangy sound, but with a split switch you'll probably just end up with just a weaker sounding pickup and not the Strat or Tele sound.

Punkrock sound with marshall avt50: is possible?

I've got a Marshall AVT50 Amplifier and I would get a punk sound (Blink 182 4 example): how can I do? Should I buy effects or I can use only the amplifier with the right settings?

if i were you i would get the "DOD GRUNGE" stomp box its relly nice. I have 1 and it is great,you han get great metal sound and great punk sounds on it i love it!! so get it NOW!!!!

hello...i have an early 60s 'appolo' semi accoustic bought from woolworths in london.it has two "f" holes twin pickups is sunburst style red/black & was once fitted with a tremelo arm.has anyone heard of one of these and does it have any value? kind reguards....nick.

depends on condition and how 'original' it is, check the blue book for a ball park estimate.

Burns trisonic electrics

Can anybody out there help me. I have a Burns Jazz Bass C.1966. Which needs the wiring putting back to original. Does anybody know where I can get a wiring diagram from? The layout is for trisonic pickups, four way rotary selector (wild dog etc) one volume pot and one tone control pot, plus two small coils.
Any help or a direction would be great!!

Did you get help with this? I have one. But anyone with electronics knowledge should be able to suss how to wire it back if you have all the parts.

Did Cobain use a Boss DS-1 distortion? That is what I hear. What kind of chorus did he use? Chorus is audible on a number of Nirvana recordings. Are there any other effects he used? I figure there wouldn't be too many, since he was really a grunge guy.

I also heard that he used a boss ds1 and i also heard that he used an electro hamonix chorus for other songs as for amps live he played mesa boogie heads on marshall cabs but in the studio for the clean songs he used a vox ac30 hope this helps you getting your sound and by the way fender is re-realesing the jagstang

For most of his distortion he used an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi ---- I think he used that Electro Harmonix Analog Chorus thing.

Yes kurt used DS-1 in Bleach and in nevermind.After he used Boss DS-2 turbodistortion.
For the chorus he used electro harmonix small clone.For other effects you go in this site,it's beautiful www.kurtsequipment.com.

Old Harmony "Caliente"

Was given an old (Black and Pink) Harmony Caliente. It's an arch top,f hole with a sliding adjustable bridge,and trapeze tail piece. It has a black body with a pink V coming to a point 3 inches from the bridge and all paint appears to be original. From the paint job I assume it is from the 50s. Anybody have anything on this thing?

Sounds like a Japanese made Vantage from 1981. The company was Matsumoku. Quality guitars & basses (before being bought by Samick and moved to Korea)

I own 2 Vantage Basses of the same era. The pickups are almost certainly Dimarzio.
