Burns Bison

I have the chance of purchasing a Burns Bison, the vendor has no idea of it's history so I am hoping someone out there may be able to help me.
It looks identical to pictures I've seen on the net of the Bison Club series. The paintwork, scratchplate etc are all black. The plate at the base of the neck is marked "Bison Series" and numbered "0102190". The guitar is in mint condition.
Can anyone please let me know the estimated age and value of this guitar.
ps. It sounds great plays well & the asking price is £250

Re: Burns Bison

I have no idea of what vintage / modern bisons look like, but I would say from the price that it would be a "new" club series Bison. A vintage one would be £800 plus I would have thought.

Re: Burns Bison

original burns bison guitars have four pick ups as opposed to the three on the reissue.

Acoustic Pickguard "Suntan"

I recently removed a pickgurad from my Yari acoustic that was peeling up at the edges. I had originally intended to replace it, however, I like the beautiful Englemann spruce top better without it. Even though the guitar is only about 1 year old, it does have the "suntan" left over. I've heard that eventually it will fade to match the shade of the rest of the top. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

fender bass made in mexico

i received a fender bass for a present about 7 years ago. i have never really played it and would like to sell it but i don't even know how much it was new. any help would be greatly taken. thanks

Re: fender bass made in mexico

Nancy,
I have a Fender Jazz Bass made in Mexico that I got used for $225. I think it was probably worth it although I'm not an authority. It is in perfect condition- in fact, the plastic layer was still on the pickguard when I got it. Anyway, is yours a Precision Bass, a Jazz Bass, or what? With that info. somebody will surely be able to tell you about what it's worth. Hope this is a help.

Re: help guitar paint

Hi.
I´ve painted some guitars and this is how i do it:
First clean the surface but don´t use water. Then use the best paint system you can get - automotive paint (i use PPG and House of Kolor). Now it´s time to seal/prime the surface and give it a few hours to fully dry. Then spray the basecoat starting with a tack coat first. This provides an important tooth for the subsequent wet coats to adhere to. Don´t try to paint it with just one coat. It´s better to apply less paint and more coats. If you wish to do some graphics you should give the guitar a protective coat of clear. Let the guitar set for 24 hours and lightly sand it with 600 grit sandpaper. Don´t worry about the little scratches. At the end they´ll desapear.
Now it´s time to put down the paint gun and go for the airbrush. The are many different ways to sketch your design. I use chalk because it wipes off easily and leaves no residue. When the graphics/design are finished it´s time for the clearcoat (use the paint gun!). You can now polish and reassemble the guitar.
If you have any doubts, just let me know.

Have a nice paintin´

joao

Sperzel tuner pin hole drill bit

Got new Sperzels, want to install but the box says to use a #36 2.7mm drill bit. Has anybody tried a 7/64" drill bit: 2.77mm? Is this the right size? The web site says to use a #41 2.54mm bit. And where do you get these things? Home Depot and Lowe's only sell inch-ratio bits. The tuners are 3x3 Les Paul style.
Thanks.

HELP! Rocktron all access floor controller

Hi.I just recently bought the rocktron all access floor controller and want to use it to control a Line 6 Echo Pro and Mod Pro. Is it possible for me to set up a patch on the Rocktron which would access an effect on,say, the Mod Pro whilst automatically setting the Echo Pro to byass. I guess it has something to do with setting the Line 6 units to respond to different midi channels, but is it possible to get one patch on the all access to transmit info on more than one midi channel at the same time. If anyone could help i'd be grateful, however if someone could explain this to me in the simplest of terms( im VERY new to midi and rack FX) id be even more grateful. Thanks in advance, hopefully. Jx

Re: HELP! Rocktron all access floor controller

Wow, the Roctron is definately not for someone new to midi...you have a lot of learning to do. My suggestion is that you look up some FAQs about midi foot controllers to understand the commands and terms. Good Luck.
