Just wondering if the Marshall EL34 50/50 or the EL100/100 stack up (no pun intended) to some of the competition out there for the foundation of a killer rack rig. A buddy of mine has a VHT that he paid almost $3,000 for and he said the Marshalls are warmer.
I finally have decided to make the investment to a top notch rack rig. I can't afford to make any costly mistakes (again). Any advice would be appreciated. I'm also considering a Mesa Triaxis. Anyone out there have one?

Im having trouble and i dont have too mutch $ what kind of amp should i get i want marshall head but that warhead by rolland is cool too. i need to keep up with my other guitarist with a mode 4 marshall. Im thinking of whatever will last and that has a cab that will dish out power.

whats up anyone who knows how to tune a guitar to baritone without a electric tuner please e mail me and help me out here cus i just been playing for 6 months and im teaching myself but i cant tech myself to tune it in different ways withouta e-tunner alright later

Just wondering what kinds of 2 12" cabinets (and speakers) people would recommend for a rack with a Marshall JMP1 and a Peavey 50/50 pwr. amp. I've been told that Celestion classic 30's would be ideal. I want a great rock, blues and clean sound. (Don't we all.)

Hi Dave. Hopefully you'll get some more opinions in the next little while. My Dad (Strat Man) really loves this site, but doesn't want to speak first always, or too much.

My friends play Marshall. Most of them, and we listeners find the sound pretty dirty and its tough to find a clean mode. I'm okay with Peavey, no problems.

One of my Dad's buddies has a Marshall amp and a Mesa Boogie rack power amp/pre-amp. Seems like the Mesa is in the too good to be true category. Everybody around here likes it cuz it can be clean, blazing and all things - it sounds excellent.

Give them all a try if you can. Possible to rent some?

Big topic, lots of choice. I haven't tried one yet but like the simplicity and features of the Tera Tec Producer Model or Phase 88 with Midi hardware included. I might have spelled this wrong, but with a little effort you can locate specs and dealers on the internet. Online Dealers' computers & recording categories offer many options.

About a year ago, I was hanging around my friend ryan's house, and i noticed this strange, decrepid old gibson amp sitting in the corner of his basement, i asked him how the hell it got there (i had never noticed it before, the thing looks like a piece of retro furniture...) he said it had just been collecting dust and said to just take it if i wanted to fix it up. As far as I can tell (and i don't know too much about amp wiring) it needs power tubes, a few preamp tubes, a speaker, a fuse, the power cord isn't even grounded, and i'm betting i should go ahead and replace whatever components inside it. If anyone has any info on this interesting piece of equipment, by all means, tell me! I really need to find out what kind of power tubes it takes!
