g-string goes out of tune...it's drivin' me nutz!

most of the strings stay in tune good, but the g-string goes out pretty easy! Why does this happen, and how can I prevent it? Help would be greatly appreciated.

dear adam,
no matter whether You have a guitar with tremolo or without:
the carves in the saddle need to fit eactly. i prefer to make the string slinky and "grease" up a bit the carves with "no stick" teflon powder for saophone mechanics. this should do.i use it for gibson-like guitars, too, because of the angle the g- and d-string are put in the saddle.
and, of course, Your strings mustn't be rusty. if they're that old, no staying in tune will be possible.
hope this helps
