Um, no, he was correct. "Is" refers to quality, which is singular. : : How is this? : How ‘are’ Stagg Guitars quality? not ‘is’. : Personally comparing them to the big boys such as Fender, Gibson etc they’re not as good, but with regards to price, construction and finish they are excellent. : Recently I went to buy a new bass, I tried several ‘Jazz’ models in the Fender style and was dissapointed. Fenders Mexican varients needed lots of set-up to play well and the less said about Squire the better. : They aren’t made as well as Stagg guitars and cost more money. : Stagg guitars do need some TLC such as new top-nut and truss-rod adjustment, but for £120 I don’t really expect any different. With Squire and Fenders costing a lot more I expect better. Gone are the days when Squire was good. : The only real gripe I have with Stagg instruments are their use of chunkier frets which neccesitates the action being higher and a bit harder to play. Also the Jazz model I bought had the bridge slightly out of allignment with the neck, but an hours work spent sorting all the problems out gave me a great sounding and feeling instrument. : Like I said compared to the big boys so so, but on overall value for money they’re great.

: : How is this? (to Chrissie Baumer) Methinks you are the one who needs remedial English classes — what’s with "varients" or have you Yanks changed the spelling of that word too?

: Is this the same "Rockin’ Jimmy and the Brothers of the Night"? To my knowledge, Jim wasn’t in a band called BROTHERS OF THE NIGHT. What can you tell me about them? Jim was a Blues Brothers and Albert King sideman, and has also played with Pinetop Perkins, Jason Scheff of the band Chicago and others. Really a mind-blowing player. Chuck
